Hi everyone, I have two boys and I’ve noticed that my brown lop Ronnie has got one eye that’s always watering. At first I thought it was because of the change in the weather but I’ve recently moved my bunnies hutch into the garage and I’ve put blankets in there cages also socks over their water to keep it warm. No matter what I do with him, including rubbing his eye with salt water, it just keeps watering and I can’t get it to stop. Does anyone know why this is happening to him or have any suggestions? 🙂

i would take your bun to the vet, it could be tear duct disease or a dental problem. Its not really clear but it could be serious.

Hi Jadinee, my bunny has chronic watery eye (left one), I took her to 2 different vets and to an eye specialist and nobody could tell me what it is. They told me it could be related to teeth growth or obstructed duct but to know exactly the causee they need to do X-rays and MRI which is extremely expensive. After several antibiotic treatments and nebulization, the eye doctor told me to put chamomile tea compresses, it took time (like two months) but worked, she is much better and now and her eye is dry. My bunny is a lion head so she had a lot of hair, so I cut the hair around the eye which also helped. Now I keep a bottle of chamomile tea in the fridge and, even though she is fine, I wipe her eye everyday in the morning and at night. Just give it a try, is inexpensive and may it works for you as well. :)

Hi all! Thank you. I waited a few days to see if he still had it and he does so I’m going to get him into the vets asap. Thank you to everyone that replied!
