Wedding updates and planning pics..

So.. I guess I am gonna marry the Tree..

I selected my dress... and given that I am a costumer.. I think I have the measurements down well enough as to what I want... and it's gonna be alright..

Here's what I am going with..

This is what I chose for the bridesmaids.. but this lady is not making them. I can recreate an Elizabethan costume right down to the most intricate detail.. so this dress intially caught my eye..

But the way this bride elected to have it made and wore it.. with the sleeves and stuff.. is the way I am going with...

The brides kinda... Odd looking..lol..

I hope ya'll can see the correlation of the arm and back lacing between my gown and the bridesmaids..

We would basically do each dress in a jewel tone for each gal... so I would have an emerald green, ruby red, royal purple,sapphire blue, a beautiful pewter, a copper/bronze color depending on how you interpret it.

We have not even decided what were doin on the flowergirls and mini bride..

I can complete a dress in a week to 2 weeks.. and I think I am gonna be uber busy if I wanna complete all this by New Years Eve..

As for what The Tree Squidz is wearing..

With so much color going on.. we elected to keep it simple..so for right NOW..(that may change...)

The waistcoat is a bit fancy.. it is still black.. but it has a pattern to it.. but it's just like these.. just BLACK..

I am really liking the look of those cravats and shirt collarswith those... and I am thinking of actually switching to that.. and going with tails on the jackets...

As for the flowers... thus far...

I havn't EVEN gotten that far yet.. I just know were doin lots of candles and mirrors at the reception.. because the wedding will also end up being a New Year's party...so I want it to have a certain.. ambience..

OH.. I almost forgot the best part... a nod to me being Irish..

I talked to the lady who makes these..and shes gonna tweak the scale up a bit to make it more proportionate to my 6ft3 self..so im uber excited..

Well my engagement precious....

He's just going with a simple titanium band.. doing what he does, he wanted something durable and no stones for stuff to get wedged up in..

I dunno what I wanna do with mine... this is gonna sound stupid.. but I am weird in the sense that I think if I get an eternity band, the diamonds need to be spaced the same width as the engagement ring... but thats been dang near impossible..the ring he bought me, he bought 12 years ago..and it was a custom job thing..I am considering doing a plain platinum band..because the engagement ring is so big..I think it will look nice, and have a nice balance to it..

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dresses - don't care for any of the models really - but I love the dresses. I really like the look you're going for with the sleeves - that was what I was looking for with our ceremony.

Someone asked about if we're getting married at the same time...NOPE. For one thing - Zin would far outshine me and no bride wants that on her wedding day....even if it is an anniversary celebration. :biggrin2: For another thing- IF we do our ceremony...it will be at the Texas Renaissance Fair. Notice the "if" - there's a lot of things for us to consider...among them...money. Since we started making the plans...our central a/c went out....we've been talking about building a bunny building. We can't afford everything all at once - so Art & I are gonna have to sit down and decide on priorities for ourselves and look at what we can/can't afford and save, etc. I still am hoping we can afford it...but we'll see. We had talked about going to the faire this year - but I don't think that's going to happen either.....just too many things going on and its pretty pricey to go there w/ the gas, hotels, etc. etc. We haven't sat down and made a decision yet - so we'll see. I would like to go and see the place ahead of time - BUT - that would be money we could save towards the actual ceremony. (I suspect we're going to still go ahead and have the ceremony since Art has been letting his hair grow out since forever in order to have it long for the ceremony..).

But back to Zin....and her wedding - which really is the focus of this...

I think the dresses are neat - I really do. I can't carry off a look like that (I'm too conservative and my face would be beet red from a style like that) - but I think they're GORGEOUS. I can hardly wait to see pics from the wedding.

I love the black for Squidz too.

The candles and stuff sound awesome - how neat to have a New Year's Eve wedding....

I can imagine the forum will be living with a "bridezilla" now - but we'll all be waiting for more updates, etc.
