Weatherly update

Finally, Weatherly is free of her wraps and the 3x a day hosings... no riding for another month but the vet is happy with her progress - she is moving much better at the trot and the vet said in a year I will not even notice she injured the tendon... next appointment is in 3 weeks and then she will check to see if I can resume starting Weatherly riding.

I am just thankful she is healing and the vet thinks things are going well.

Thank you to anyone who sent good thoughts our way - they do help. Weatherly was showing off for the vet - chasing Nefertiti and bucking, rearing and then launching herself off the ground - all four feet in the air- she was almost too much for me to trot on a cottonlead today (weather is colder and damp here).

That's just AWESOME! It's good when they heal nicely like that! She's not noticing anything huh? LOL! I love when they play and jump around! Lexi got a video of Pokie over the weekend..... I'm going to see if I can edit it and post it online. Pokie was doing the "I'm a bucking bronco in the rodeo" Act as well.

I am thrilled - and I have to get my camera out - but then Weatherly comes over to investigate... "Hey, what is THAT? Can I eat it? Can I sniff it? You don't mind that I smudged the lens with my breath, did you?!"

The vet even stayed back a moment to watch her play, with a smile on her face. Weatherly was such the show off.

LOL! Dakota licked Lexi's cell phone a few times today..... "What's that, huh? is it food, is it an oreo? does it have frosting inside?!" Oh yeah, did i mention he has a thing for oreos? HE LOVES the dipper oreos - licks the frosting......

I love the big nose... and that he loves Oreos - my grandfather used to sneak Oreos out to my first horse and she would get ticked off that I never had them and she would bite me.

Weatherly loves to stick her nose in my hair and then wiggle her lips...or to breathe deeply when she is burrowed in there... the other stunt she used to pull when she was little was to stick her nose in a pile of manure and try to stick her face in mine... "Hey, guess what I was eating?!" :shock: Thank goodness she does NOT do that anymore.

I just love the goofy antics they do.

LOL! I have never heard of another horse that likes OREOS! That's great! Pokie looks at us as if we are completely out of our minds! WHO would eat those nasty things.... Kota looks at her like "you're an idiot" as he grabs his!

I love the antics..... especially like with Weatherly.....it's so good to know they feel well enough to kick up and play!!!

Kota does the hair snorting thing with the farrier.... LOL!

Weatherly is all about taking the tools out my farrier's pockets. My former farrier who passed away was used to her coming in the stall and taking tools as she worked on another horse.

I have to get some video of her. I knew I was going to purchase her because she walked up to me when I was looking at the weanlings and she got right in my face - pick me, pick ME!

My favorite thing is her squeal...she's vocal that way. Weeeeeeee!
