So the bun that I had rescued appears to have been weaned too soon. He will dig and bite at my clothes and will nip or bite at my fingers and flesh as often as he can. He eats pellets and hay just fine as well as drinks water often.
Is this behaviour just from being taken from his mom too early, and is there a way to correct the behaviour?

Thanks everyone!

It seems like he's more bored or lonely than anything else. Do you give him toys to play with or is there a companion nearby?

It also could be the fact that he comes from a less than caring breeder. I've spoken with many breeders that handle the kits as soon as they're fully furred and the dispositions are calm and sweet. Mine are 4wk old kits are displaying good behavior when handled as well. You may just have to say "no" and move him off of you temporarily before picking him back up. Training is possible.

Okay I'm glad training is possible!
I have been doing the 'no' firmly and loudly. It has only been two days so I have no introduced him to his future companion yet.
As for toys he has TONS. I tend to spoil my fur babies so he has no shortage of things to do. I am a stay at home mom so he gets a lot of handle time.

I would include treats as an incentive for good behavior. They're highly motivated by them.

How old is he exactly?

Yes, how old is he and how much do you feed him?

No idea how old he is exactly. His first vet appointment isn't until two weeks from now.
He gets unlimited hay and pellets right now.
But he is tiny.

Well, it's hard to know what's causing the behavior except that if he's 12+ weeks old he could be starting to get hormonal. If he's a small breed then he'll never get very big so "tiny" doesn't tell us much. Maybe the vet can give you an estimate, or you could try posting some good pictures of him next to things so we can get an idea of his size, and his weight would help also.

from the picture looks to be about 8 weeks.

Handling or lack thereof does not explain the behaviours.
Might be attracted to something you have on your hands (they smell things differently then we do). Might just be a bun who likes to dig.

Might simply need to be trained. :)
