so i was feeling a little depressed lately that we were moving. i wanted someplace cheaper, but for the amount we pay here we get a washer and dryer, a gym to work out at, a pool and hot tub, tennis court (which i don't even play, but it is still there) and it is under 5 minutes for me to drive to work on good roads.

plus, i would have to leave my kitchen, which i adore my kitchen, i should photograph it for you all, it is AMAZING for the fact that it is an apartment kitchen (and most kitchens in apartments SUCK!)

so anyway, my roommate gets a call a few days ago from the leasing office while i was at work. they want us to stay and are offering to keep our rent what it is now (instead of bumping up from 745 to $805). . . we talked about it, and well, today we resigned our lease!

i am just a little shy of estatic! because in the end, it all comes down to me being able to keep my kitchen!

Yay, congrats! When were you going to be moving out? Our lease expires in May. This is our first time renting, when do you suppose I should call about leasing it for another year? We have a pretty darn nice kitchen, too! And I don't wanna move.

Congrats! I totally understand the being excited especially about getting to keep the kitchen (and I would be happy about the hot tub access too... I'd be lost without ours now!) :)Glad it worked out

i think it depends on the place.

our place runs almost monthly specials on apartments, therefore it would have been wise for us to keep a close look at what special they were re-running.

but honestly, we didn't begin looking for a new place till about a week ago (and our lease was up march 9th) only because places didn't want to hold an apartment on a deposite for more then a few weeks. and we couldn't afford to pay double rent.

this place just works so perfect also because they allow the rabbits with no additional charges

It was really hard to find an apartment for me. I needed a pet friendly one and only found 3 in the entire city! One was horribly, horribly run down, as in broken windows, and one was in a bad part of town. I started looking in January because we had to move in May and finally found one in the beginning of May. All the landlord people kept saying to call back in May even though we had to move at the end of the first week! I like having things all planned out, so I wasn't too happy with this but it worked out in the end. Ya know, I haven't actually told the management about the bunnies. When we moved in, they said any caged pet is okay. The bunnies are kinda caged, I mean they only get out of cage time when we're home so they're supervised (one or the other is out of the cage for at least 8 hours a day so they don't have it bad). Neither has done any damage. They were fine with my rats and cockatiels though so I think they'll be okay with cute little bunnies!

yeah, i understand what you mean! finding an affordable, nice place up here that allowed the rabbits was way hard.

That's great, Katt! And if your drive to work is that short, that's a plus:D. I'd love to see the kitchen too!;)
i will have to post photos of my kitchen once we finish painting it. . . we had it a very bold red, but were priming it back to white for when we moved out, now that we aren't we have to repaint it all over again!
