We are home and Audrina did well. She was feisty though. When they came out to get me they told me I needed to hurry because audrina woke up from surgery very upset. I could here her screaming. She was hitting the nurses and telling them "I'm gonna tell mommy!" :) so we are home and she ate some toast and is now asleep :) thank you everyone for all the support and prayers!

Oh poor girl. I have heard of people waking up very aggitated before. It's just a side effect of the drugs. It's quite the relif that everything went well and now she can soak up the TLC.

Thanks Jj. I am so glad to have her home. I held myself together all morning until they took her back to surgery and the tears flooded my face. I cried for about 15 minutes. But Im so glad we did the surgery :)

Hey the easy part is over. lol Now you have to entertain her for the day and then deal with the tubes. So glad she came through like a little trooper. My mom once kicked one of the nurses when coming out of surgery ( she says she wasn't aware of what she was doing but in her later years was really awful to the nurses whenever she could ). I am sure they are accustom to this happening on occasion especially with little ones, they get pretty scared and disorientated. You try and get some rest when she is sleeping, I think this was probably harder on you than her.

Alma, I definitely agree with you. I think I cried more than she did. She was so pitiful waking up from anesthesia though. She wanted something to drink so they gave her ginger ale and I handed it too her in her cup and she fell asleep with it in her hand. Then she woke up and wanted her cup and I kept telling her it was in her hand. She kept yelling at me saying it wasnt. I finally had to show her the cup in her hand :) She has been pretty delirious today. She tried to eat a napkin. She kept saying it was Go-Gurt (her favorite yogurt). She chewed on her blanket and stuck her toast on her face and fell asleep  Heres some pics of her before and after surgery

Im planning on giving her some pain medicine around 8pm. I have kicked my husband out of the bed tonight so she can sleep with me. Im hoping to be asleep by 9. I am so tired, i can barely hold my eyes open. She only slept for 20 minutes when we got home. Im starting to feel delirious myself haha

So glad to hear all went well and she and you are home.

Love the pics.

Know about children coming out of anesthesia very well. It's tough on them. Nurses, if they are any good, will understand completely your daughter's reaction, as they did with Henry. He came up swinging. I had to calm him down because they had his hands tied and got him to promise (pinkie swear) with the nurse so that she would untie him. Worked like a charm because Mom was there.

I know it IS much worse on the parents. You are so out of the "I can fix all the ****oo's" and your child is looking at you to stop the pain. And not surprised once your daughter got home she didn't sleep. Know that as well.

Hoping you BOTH have a restful night. Truly glad it all went well.

K :)

Thanks Karen. The nurses were very understanding. They chuckled at he reaction and saying that she was gonna tell mommy. They were wry attentive during recovery. I couldn't have been happier with them. Especially because they said the surgery would be about an hour long and it only took them 30 minutes

Sounds like she was in excellent care. So happy for both of you.

Now get some rest. Wishing you both a very quiet, restful night.

K :)

So glad to hear she got through okay! Hopefully now her issues will subside. She is such a cutie pie :) And when she feel better, I'll bet she'll think it's so funny when you tell her what she did after she woke up!

Thank you SnowyShiloh :) She is my pride and joy but She hates me right now. She was asleep in my bed so I thought it would be a good time to put her ear drops in. She won't let me touch her ears while she is awake. I got one ear done and then she woke up screaming crying and saying I hurt her. I know I have to put these drops in her ears but it makes me feel horrible that it hurts her. My poor baby :( it makes me cry. Shes back asleep now but she keeps waking up crying an saying "I don't want it, leave me alone!" This is just awful!

She'll get over it. She will love you for it. You had to do what had to be done for her benefit. You just need to get over this last hill and it will be better for your daughter. And she will one day see it. Not now but one day she will thank you for it in one way or another.

Yes parent's job is hard and it sometimes makes you cry for the decision you need to make. But you do the child who is your pride and joy.

Keep the faith. It will pass.

K :)

Audrina is so cute! I hope she gets to feeling better soon.

It's hard being the mom, but you are doing the right thing. Hang in there

Thank you Brandy :) Today is going okay. She is up and playing a little bit, but she will not eat anything. I have tried applesauce, jello, popsicle, toast, and yogurt. She takes one bite and says her mouth hurts. Im guessing her throat in sore from the breathing tube. As long as she is drinking, I am happy. Im not going to push food. But, I havent had to give her any of the narcotic pain relief. She seems to be doing pretty good with just the tylenol.

Glad that she is home and doing better. Try and encourage her to snuggle in bed with you and you both have a couple of good naps today. Maybe try some popsiciles or ice cream to encourage her to eat. That used to be the old go to when tonsils were regularly removed. If that fails and she is drinking send dad or grandma to get some children's boost type drink.
