Ryan and I went to the big PetSmart adoption event on Saturday. We wanted to adopted from a rescue called "Miss Kitty's Cat House", so we looked at their kitties first. One of the volunteer's opened a kennel right away and showed us the sweetest kitty ever. His name is "Jupiter" or "Jupe" (as I call him). He is 1 1/2 years old and pure black with lime green eyes....Jupe also has 24 (I think) toes. It looks like his front paws have little black mittens on.

Jupe was dumped at a vet's office when he was 3 months old, so this lady took Jupe to foster and has had him since then. She planned to adopt him, but already had a lot of kitties and bottle babies. She decided to bring him to the event today in hopes that special people would come along and adopt him :).

He hid under our dresser until tonight :?. We got him out and blocked off any hiding spots, but he found a way to jump up onto the top shelf of our closet. He warmed up to us tonight, but is still a bit skittish. I hope he will come down when he is hungry or thirsty. He hasn't had much food or water that I can tell, but he did pee once in his litter box. He is super scared sometimes, but tonight he was rolling on the floor and throwing himselves into us for lovin's.

I hope he will fully come around soon, poor guy.

Pictures later, when he is not scared anymore ;).

When we got Tank he was terrified - an older barn kitten brought a couple of hours from my father inlaw's brother's place.

Tank Today is a big baby,love-bug, affectionately called "Moron Kitty" cause he drools on us when we pet him LOL!

Oh yeah! those are supposed to be good luck cats! AND my mom has 2 big black girl kitties visiting her house. One seems preggers - they will have her spayed after the kittens are born cause she seems to have moved in permenantly. She's fluffy black with gorgeous green eyes!

I think we might take a kitten for outside cause hubby doesn't want anymore animals inside.... - but not til it's old enough to live outside......

:whistling

We got Jupe down from the top of the closet last night, but I think he is back up there as of this morning. I really hope he will come down for food, water, potty...it worries me. He does let you pet him and he head-butts your hand for lovin's when he is on the top of the closet.

Jupe seems to really like Ryan. He loved Ryan when we were at PetSmart, too. I told Ryan now I have to get my own cat :grumpy:.....hahahaha.

You know, the best way to get a cat comfy is to limit his space and keep him with the litterbox if you can. Then he gets the idea that is HIS area and goes to it.

Do you have a bathroom or someplace you plan to put the litterbox and you can keep him in there most of the day?

YES! I love seeing those cats when they show them in documentaries and such! He left money for them to be cared for didn't he?

Ryan and I went to work today and then went shopping afterwards, so Jupe was alone for 12 hours today. During that time he definitely used his litter box, ate food, and drank water.

He perks up more when you lay down on the floor and pet him under the dresser...where he likes to hide, lol.

We will probably put him in the small (toilet & sink) bathroom tomorrow, if he isn't coming out more.
