The Monkeys! had bottles at the breeders, butwhen we brought them hom, I had to rush out and buy them bowls becausethey wouldn't use the bottles...

I use bottles for my bunnies mostly because itkeeps the cage more clean. The cage floor stays a lot drier and youdon't end up with debris in the water. But, like stanleysmommy and zeesaid, it is really a personal choice.

I use bottles, only AFTER! learning the hardway Some Bunnies enjoy PLAYINGin the Bowls , Nothing likejust putting a bowl in and watchingto be sure they are not goingto spill it , just to have asilly Bunny get a wild hare andplay splash the Mommy !!!

I know what you mean, Gypsy, Valuran loves toplay with the bowl of water. One day he was sleeping with his chin onit! He's always tossing cardboard in it too, and generally spilling itall over the place.

We still keep a water bowl out for them though, in addition to a waterbottle in their cage. The more water available to all my animals, thebetter I feel.

I use bottles. My bunnys get veryplayful, and if im gone for 8 hours at work, and they dump the waterout 20 minutes after i leave the house... It sure is a long wait tilmommy gets home to water them again :)

I should clarify, we don't keep a bowl of waterin the cage, they'd dump it in about two seconds flat. It's out in theliving room, right next to their cage but not inside it.

We tried bottles, but the buns don't want todrink from them here. Mocha tried, but gave up after tenminutes and drink very heavy when we put her bowl back in a couplehours later. they do throw stuff into their bowls (mocha isour basketball player. She throws it in, picks it out, thenthrows it in again.) we just make sure it isn't anything that gets thewater dirty and we rinse them out at every feeding. Theydon't tip them over though it isn't from a lack of trying. Webought the widest, heaviest ceramic water bowls we could.Mocha had a plastic ball half the bowls size for awhile in her waterbowl to keep stuff out of it, but with enough room that she could drink.

We have bottles here. Some of mine hadbeen started on bowls, but I hate how quickly the bowls getdirty. I didn't have any trouble getting them to drink fromthe bottles. Delilah and Anissa were on bowls, and they bothinstantly drank from the bottle.

Typical Rex it was a Standard Rexdoe what got me too , arewe sure they are really rabbitsand not Water Rats withVelvet fur ??? lol .

LOL

It's so funny, he's the one that loves water the most. He's constantly playing with that bowl.

Jim, I agree, we have to change the bowl twice a day because of all thecat/rabbit fur that gets into it. I vacuum all the time, but you knowhow it gets...

When I raised Polish I used earthenware crocks, and I have a water dish with Raph now, but am trying to get him used toa water bottle. Even though I have a dish that mounts on the side ofthe cage for him (to keep his long ears out of it), he still manages toget water everywhere. He will put his front feet in it and make a hugemess. So I would much prefer he use a water bottle...they seem muchmore economical for keeping the cage clean.

I find some rabbits prefer bowls,i have one doei switched water bottles and she refused to drink from it.However thebowls need cleaned more often.bluebird

I have bowls hanging on the side of the cage, sothey don't poop and jump in it... Marvin wouldn't drink (or would getrather angry) out of the bottle. Bowser has both, but prefers thebowl...

My bunns prefer the bowls, I think its easier todrink cause they can get more at one time. But They get spilled and pooand hay and other stuff gets knocked into them all the time. Soooo , Iuse bottles. At least that was I Know the water they will be drinkingwill be clean and I can just haveone big bottle then a wholebunch of small bowls.:p

I forgot Freddys water bottle this week when icame over my boyfriends house (bad mommy!) so hes been drinking out ofa bowl and i swear ive refilled it like 83478734 billion times sinceweve been here!! so wate bottle it is for me!

I had to separate my two bonded girls one daylast week for fighting (they're fine now, maybe it was PMS orsomething). Anyway, I didn't have an extra water bottle, so Iput Snuggy's water in a bowl and she LOVED it! When I gothome, I let them out and Baby jumped in there and started lapping upfrom the bowl, too! I have lock-crocks, so they can't beturned over.

I was surprised, but my husband said, "Of course they like itbetter. How would youlike to lick a steel ball ahundred times to get a drink of your Diet Coke?".

I guess it makes sense. I'm going to keep both in there for them now.
