This might be interesting to people not in Chicago, like those in warm areas, lol, Go to chicagoshovels.org, then click on the snow plow icon to see the position of all 275 plows. Right now the entire city is full of plows. Then type in an address [you can use 100 N Michigan Av] & see where the nearest snow plow is. Right now the main streets are well-plowed, but the side streets are not done yet. :coolness:

Yes, this is a new feature.

But I'm really lucky. The condo's janitor does the shoveling & snow blowing on our property. I live only 2 blocks from a grocery. The only problem walking there comes at the intersection, where there is a gap between the street plowing & the sidewalk & I'm getting too old to jump over it the way I used to. Eventually I'll probably have to have things delivered in winters, but at least that's an option.

They just said on TV that there was 4" in the main part of the city, up to 7" further out. But the wind is to pick up later, blowing some of it around again.

Here in the city it gets dirty pretty quickly with no new snow. Some winters, kids even put initials in the snow, ie AB heart CD. I think it's unintentionally funny: carving a tree trunk symbolizes eternal love; carving in snow doesn't.

I couldn't stand the heat. I prefer 60`. I don't mind the cold, though I could do without much snow & especially ice. But fortunately people have different preferences in weather.
