so, i sold my 60 gallon tank that had baseball sized fancy tail gold fish. i kept my water plants though, and i had one heck of a surprise a few weeks ago when i went to check on the plants and saw baby fry swimming around. well i have the resourses to keep them for a little bit until they come into tank size, but i do not have a big enough tank for all of them. there is 13 of them, they were from 2 orange fancy tails and if anyone wants them they can have them. i'll be in toronto to pick up a rabbit in a few weeks, so if you can get to toronto to get them then you can have them. or if you can get to north bay even better. as i said i can not keep them, and i would rather not give them to the pet store where ppl just bring their kids in, "lets get you a gold fish" and it's dead in the next week. i don't like the idea of that kind of stuff happening at all, no matter what it is. i'm rambling now so i'm gonna finish up now lol.

i currently have them in a plastic container and i'm running a light bubbler every little bit to keep oxygen in. i had to go with the crushed to a pulp fish flakes method cause i can't afford to keep shrimp brine. the flakes are easy since i do have a betta so i have enough food on hand. changing the water is a lot harder though with these little guys lol. i would put my old filter in but they are too small at the moment and i don't have a sponge to keep them from being sucked up. and i can't put them in with my betta cause he'll prolly kill them.

on a good note my room mate hannah said that when they get big enough she'll put them into her tank for the time being with her gold fish. that is until she moves. i don't think she's bringing her tank with her, so i might end up with it. in which case i'll have to get rid of that too. the deal was that i can get the 2nd bun if i got rid of my tanks. and i know the others won't put up with me just ending up with another tank plus the rabbit.

no i didn't get rid of the tanks just to get another bun. they squawked about it and said they'd get rid of it whether i liked it or not. so i said "fine, if you get rid of my tank, i get the money plus i get another bun". there is no way they're wiping out one of my favorite hobbies and not giving something in return.

but now here i am with fish again and no idea what to do when they get too big for the container. it's supposed to be so many liters or something per inch of fish, but it's only a 2 or 3 gallon container, and 13 fish? that won't hold up for long :( sure they're only maybe .5 cm atm but they're growing fast...

so i spent about a half an hour looking through the carpet trying to find all of them and could only save 7 of the 13 :bawl: i was so pissed when he came up stairs and told me. i won't be surprised if i have nightmares of fish trying to get revenge on me. then he has the nerve to tell me i have too soft of a heart!! i threw a paper back book at him for that one (which he dodged. darn him for fast reflexes)

i knew i should have brought them in earlier that day. i just had a feeling that something was going to go wrong. my room mate decided to take the last ones and keep them at least. she went out and got floating plants that will allow them to hide and lots of hiding stuff for them. also got a sponge to go over her filter intake just in case.
