I have a 10 week old lopp eared bunny rabbit. she is an indoor rabbit. She is fed on rabbit pellets, hay and a mixture of fresh veggies. Shes a very active rabbit and is free to run around the house most of the day. I gave the rabbit her usual 20 grams of food this morning which, as per usual, she got very excited to recieve. She turned to her bowl and took a mouthful, within a few seconds she had turned around facing me and a green, slimey like substance cam from her mouth, twice. It looked like vomit. As soon as she got this up, she turned back around and continued eating. Is this normal?! She has never done anything to this effect before.:(

Rabbits do not vomit. They have no gag reflex what so ever and do not vomit or regurgitate anything. I am guessing that the problem might be dental which can cause them to drool. If it continues then please see a vet.

I wonder since she is so young and has a small mouth and throat if she grabbed too many pellets at once and one got stuck in her throat and there was no where for the chewed food to go. If it's alfalfa or timothy based, it would be greenish. She could've gotten over-zealous with how much she could handle at once.

Can you check her teeth to make sure she doesn't have a broken one? And is she pooping and peeing normally and otherwise acting the same?

She only has 20 grams of pellets as recommended from pets at home and she has little veg, usually around the size of a 50 pence piece every other day. If she had her way she would be eating alot more. shes a gannett!! Other than this shes thriving.

I havent managed to check her teeth yet as shes too wriggly and i need a 2nd pair of hands. Im taking her the vets in an hour to just be on the safe side. Thankyou for all your help guys :)

Oh sorry. Its a huge pet store and vet clinic within the UK. They are a massive franchise and its where i purchased the rabit. The gave me countless leaflets and advice which ive followed rigorously as its my first rabbit.
