I got a really bad bruise on my arm (fell down the stairs :grumpy:)... and my wedding is 10 days away. I read that topical Vitamin K is good for helping to heal bruises quicker... but anyone know of any lotions etc. that I can get that has Vitamin K - or where I would get some kind of vitamin K cream? I'm going to try going to the drug store tomorrow and asking, but I can't remember ever seeing anything....

Vitamin K Formula Clarifying Cream or it may be called Dermal K. It used to be by prescription only but it's available at drug stores now. My doctor recommended after a surgery. Also, take extra vitamin C.

This may sound disgusting but can you find a naturopathic doctor (ND)? Years ago I played co-ed broomball ice hockey and got a black eye from being hit by one of the plastic sticks (we used smaller hockey sticks and not brooms). We had an ND in town who used a medicinal leech to completely remove the bruising. It was a relief because I didn't want to walk around town with a black eye. The thought of leeches isn't pleasant but they do a good job. Maybe a regular doctor in your area uses such a thing or someone in sports medicine oracupunture.

I know you can actually get this cream especially for bruises,i'm not sure how well it works though, have only seen it in the chemist

Maybe you could ask at the chemist about it :)

dermablend is amazing! it can cover even the blackest of tattoos, so covering a bruise should be no problem. can't think of any vitamin k brands sorry.

Cool thanks guys. I'm hoping it's gone in 10 days... It's at it's darkest point now I think, so should start getting lighter.

Turns out there is no topical Vitamin K in canada (??), they only have injectable... so forget that, no time to go to the doctor for a bruise... so I am loading up on Vitamin C. I have the VitC tablets and I have topical vitamin C that I use as part of my facial regime anyway, so have been putting that on it as well. I also have pure vitamin E oil that I have been putting on it.... so we'll see. LOL.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions - if it's not gone I'm going to find that dermablend stuf!
