I was at Petsmart the other day and they had Vitakraft hayon sale for %3 for a 24oz bag. I decided to try a bag of each the timothy and orchard grass. Both looked like they were good. I just offered some of each to Beauty and she IMEDIATELY went and ate some. I have not been able to get her to eat any hay for the longest time. I have bought 2 bales tring to find one she would eat. When I opened the bag it looked like it was in lots of small dusty pieces. I decided to try it anyways. I zip tied a bundle of each to see which she would like more (if any). In the process some of the fine particales fell through. I was going to throw them away but decided to see if Shiny Things would like it. I held my hand in her cage with it and the INSTANTLY took a BIG bite of it and kept going. She LOVES it. I think that it was the costal that I tried that with. As she was pulling it from my hand some fell to the floor of the cage. She ate that too. I can not beleave how much my rabbits like this. It normally takes them a week before they will try something new. It took them 5 seconds not even.

My question is, Does anybody use this? Has anyone tried it? It is pesticide free.

Neither bag lists the Calcium but her is the what it does list.

Timothy
Protein-8%
Fat-1.5%
Fiber-30-35%
Moisture-14%

Orchard Grass (thought it was costal but I guess not).
Protein-8%
Fat-2%
Fiber-28-33%
Moisture-13%

The only ingredient in each is sun cured hay of the respected variety.

Ok, I didn't realize you got more than one kind.

Maybe now they're eating it so well, you could find it in larger quantities thru an internet search.

I used to get 5 mini bales at a time of vitakraft hay, all in one big bag. My bun loved it. The guy who sold it to me, wasn't supposed to see it. He got it from the wholesaler and it was supposed to be for 'in store use only', but he sold it to a select few people. I loved getting those mini bales, they were bound and everything. He hasn't been able to get it in over a year, but my bun LOVED it. It was just regular timothy hay.

Well Beauty will not eat it now. I think that she only took one bite to see what it was and then decided that it was not something that she liked. Shiny Things on the other hand can not get enough of it. She will eat it until she is sick.
