Recently my rabbit Clark has been violently shaking his cage really early in the morning (usually starting at around 2am) and I don't know what's causing it! He has food, water, and a toy but he will violently shake his cage so loudly it even wakes up my Dad in the next room. My Dad says if I can't figure a way to get him to stop Clark will have to go and I don't want Clark to leave! Please help me to get him to stop! I even tried ignoring it to see if he was doing it for attention because he wanted out but he continued until 7 in the morning when he fell asleep.

I'd imagine its due to Clark being restless. Rabbits tend to be more active at night, so he is looking for something to do. Does he have toys or other items to keep him occupied?

Also, you can try some sound-deadening tricks with his cage. Try and find some elastic cords with hooks to "firm up" the cage, so even if he is shaking it, the noise won't sound to "rattle-ish" (make sure you route them so he can't chew on them). You can also put a heavy phone book on top of the cage to make it quieter.

Good luck!

Maybe he needs a sea grass mat or a coir fibre mat to chew and dig at? I put the mat under Sophie's plastic igloo and it really eggs her on to dig. She loves it and it keeps her busy for hours!

How big is the cage and how often does she get let out for exercise? Peeta did this when he was bored but I started letting him out for exercise more and adopted him a friend and he does it a lot less now.

It's big enough that he has room to run around and I let him outside in the morning to run around until it starts to warm up. He has a playmate named Lewis but they're kept separate until I can bind them.

You could try lining the cage with 1/2" hardware cloth. Then he won't be able to get a hold of the cage bars to shake it. Just be careful with the cut sharp edges. They'll need to be put right to the corners, or folded to the outside so that your bun won't accidentally get scraped on them.
