How do you know if your rabbit has the VM.. he is like a broken blue but is booted and has more blue but is white and blue at front and on his head he has white flash.

I mated him with a chinchilla and one the babies is chinchilla colour but has white flash on head and on feet.

To me a VM is a white blaze on the head that starts around the eyes and goes up close to between the ears. Like a horse kinda. Someone may be better service.

Are you talking about that buck you posted in your other thread? If so, he's a booted blue, not a VM. ;)

VM's have very, very little white. Brokens you can tell that white is the base colour; VMs, the white is not the base colour.

VMs can have blue eyes, white feet/toes, a white blaze, or white stripe around the chest. They look like the markings of a Dutch rabbit - best way to describe it. ;)

If you can post pictures of the rabbits your describing, it'd be easier for us to help. ;)

The first one looks like a possible VM, I see the small blaze on the third but looks booted. The last two look like a cream white. It's hard to tell in these pics. The second just looks broken but with maybe 15% color.

If they are booteD and charlies this means that the wrong color buns were crossed. When you breed rabbits it's always good to check color charts. I know they have them for some breeds.

I explained this in the other threads.
Boooted Blue x something color= ?

Broken Black
Lookes like a sable point(charlie)maybe not
Booted chin maybe
I have no idea what those last to colors are

Yeps. If it's a true charlie breed it back to a solid and you will get %100 broken. They are of no use unless they have fabulous type and you work with brokens a lot

I have to say... Solids were my favorite and I avoided brokens as much as possible.

After learning the genetics and getting Mickey.. I like them the best. Now all we need are some nice broken reds. I'm starting my search for some castor and tort charlies now. I want a blanket patterned Mini Rex.

LOL Lindy.I don't think I've seen a broken ND and you've been here for a month and have more post than me :p
