No, don't worry folks....I haven't added orfound any sick critters in my herd. One of my young violin students hasbeen asking if I'd go to an animal swap meet with him just for fun(he's selling pigeons). I'd like to go but am worried (ok, a littleparanoid) about spreading anything to my herd.I'm notpurchasing any animals, just going to look (really!).

If that disease or any other common rabbit disease was indeed presentin animals at this meet (no idea what it's like), will washing handsand clothes before handling my herd suffice to prevent infection? Howcontagious is it? And how spread?

lol, folks, sorry, my OCD tendencies coming to the fore here.;)

Thanks!

Rose

P.S. WI is pretty far from Indiana, but you never know where suppliers come from.

Its verycontagious , wash everything , bring a bottleof hand sanitizer with you also, If you can wear white itmay get dirty but withwhite you can Bleach everythingand not worry about thecolor fading or washing out . ,before entering with your heard and assoon as you get home 1/2 inchof bleach water in a small tubstep into it to clean andkill anything on the bottom ofyour shoes

yes this is over kill but yaknow safer is better than sorrylater.

Whoa, had no idea it was that bad. I really haveto bleach clothes, not just wash 'em? Maybe I'll play it safe and stayhome...but he really wanted me to go....
