UVic is seeking to overturn the injunction preventing them from killing all the rabbits on their campus so they can start quickly killing all the bunnies before school starts up again.

PLEASE SHOW UP FOR THE COURT PROCEEDINGS MONDAY (Aug. 16) IN VANCOUVER at 9:45 AM at the BC SUPREME COURT at 800 SMITHE STREET!! The physical presence of supporters could make ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!

The majority of the UVic rabbits do have places to go and budgets for spays and neuters but politics and red tape are getting in the way of their rescue. The Ministry of the Environment is classifying them as wildlife and are requiring restrictive permits. Most importantly, they have been extremely slow in processing and approving the applications, leaving the rabbits vulnerable to the University's cruel 'cull'.

A temporary injunction has been in place (via advocate Roslyn Cassells) because of the slowness of the Ministry's processing time. But UVic with next to no notice is going to court to block the injunction.

We need your support NOW!!

All those innocent lives need your support. I hope tons and hundreds, thousands, of rabbit-compassionate, animal compassionate persons will be there to support the rabbits. Classification as wildlife just makes me sick, and I would be standing up for eastern cottontails too.
Cruel culls, and inhumane treatment is preventable.

Please Show UP,

-- good for all the places those innocent heartbeats have waiting for them.

I hope this results in a victory for the rabbits. Keep us posted, Pipp.

Much support from WI. all the emotions and feelings in those four-legged and jeopardized "can be" pets. I see that more and more each day, with those in our care.

Really need bodies at the courthouse tomorrow. :( They're arguing that the person who launched the injunction (Roslyn) has no standing and is just a lone activist who protests everything.

Its crucial to disprove that!

We're meeting at 9 AM in the lobby. 800 Smithe.

:pleaseplease:

Got a reprieve but only until Friday.

The case will go ahead then for sure, so Friday, 10 AM!! Everybody needs to be there!

Can't wear bunny ears in court (or carry signs), maybe bunny buttons?

Its looking good for the sanctuaries, there was an inspection at one of the sites today, and a permit is expected, and its good for 450 rabbits.

But UVic really wants to start killing them now. :(

Likewise, I would be there too.

Are there ways to submit online support? Can I write in from WI voicing support of sanctuaries (smale scale, such as ours)?, or provide a link to SRR's SoulmateBeginnings?

What's the best way to assist if we're too far from the courthouse?

What about sanctuaries further away from Vancouver? Midwest, etc.

Shaking my head that UVic would rather demolish them all.

Bunny t-shirts, bunny buttons, bunny stocking caps, ? ... can we send pictures of us and our bunnies? Can all rabbit parents do this? Vancouver Sun media?

I hope a ton of education will come from this. 450 and counting! Gotta thank the people that support and bestow sanctuary for innocent beings.
