Help My bun has urine scald. Her back leg is losing fur. What to do?
Is the fur going to grow back?I would clean away the urine and make sure that the area where my bunny live is clean.
If there a health reason for getting scalding, I would regular clean my bunny with wet towel or a shallow spot cleaning bath where only the legs get wet and I can work slowly out the urine/grime from the fur. Most important after are to make the fur dry.
As long you keep the enviroment clean and the bunny. The fur will grow back again and slowly heal. I would also check why my bunny got urine scalding and if something I need to check with a vet.
The fur will grow back as long the bunny get proper care and can heal calmly. My most concern to the urine scalding is why your bunny got it.Is the fur going to grow back?
I think the the litterbox is the problem. I wake up and see that the cloth is wet because of pee. I use a cloth in the litterbox and maybe it's not absorbent enough. I should change it at least twice a day (i just change it once). The fur will grow back as long the bunny get proper care and can heal calmly. I always check my bunnies regularly and clean up their litter box and also the spots outside if it happens. If it’s just lightly on the fur I will let it be but soaked I will use a damp cloth to wash it away. So my bunnies never gotten any urine scalding or at a risk to get it. But if it would ever happen the most important are to keep things clean.
If you are using cloth I would change the bedding a lot ofter because it won’t keep the litter box dry.I think the the litterbox is the problem.
