Recently we had my in-laws cats for about three months. While they were here I put my rabbit (male about 1 year old) in our bedroom. Now the cats are gone and I moved him back into the living room this was last weekend all this happened. I made sure I shampooed the carpets before moving him back in . He has been kicking his legs while he hops around ever sense moving him back to the living room. I’ve checked if he was spraying but I haven’t felt any wet spots. When he does this he does let off a funny smell. What can cause that if he isn’t spraying ? Also I noticed today he has ate or drank anything . Could he be upset ?

I want to clarify something, as it's the "one little thing" that can be everything with rabbits... you said "Also I noticed today he has ate or drank anything." - did you mean that he *hasn't* eaten or drank anything? If so, that's a medical emergency for rabbits (if they go 8-12 hours without eating, drinking and/or pooping) and you need to get your rabbit to an emergency vet immediately.''

As long as he's still eating/drinking/pooping normally, then yes, he's probably upset and still adjusting. He may still smell remnants of the cats (since rabbits' noses are far more sensitive than humans and carpet cleaning may not be enough to remove that) and/or he may also be acting weird because enough time has passed for him to forget about all those other rooms in the home and you've essentially exposed him to too much "new" territory at once.

Basically, if he's not eating and/or drinking you need to immediately take him to an exotics-savvy emergency vet. If he IS eating/drinking/pooping normally, then I recommend limiting him to your bedroom like he's used to. Let him have limited and supervised visits to the living room OR limit his space to a portion of the living room and gradually increase the time spent out there and/or area in the living room he can visit until it's back to how it was pre-cats.

I’m sorry I meant hasn’t. I wasn’t sure what to do so I let him out last night. He was acting fine and ate some romaine . I checked on him this morning and I noticed he drank half his water, ate food , and hay.

That's excellent news that he's eating and drinking now! Just keep an eye on him and give him some extra snuggles, then - rabbits hate change, but they're also resilient little creatures so hopefully he'll get used to things in no time (after all, who's gonna complain about having more space?) :D.
