Well, I had a few minutes yesterday to take some pics of Bronco. We put him out on a lead to eat some grass and get some sunshine..... he actually got a little too much sun - his pink skin is darker pink now! LOL!

We also got Dakota home last night. We were/are very proud of him. The 4H meeting we went to was a horse clinic and he did very well! Lexi was pleasantly surprised when he was very good around other horses in the arena and he's going to be a fun project this year!

On to the Goatie Pics!!

Bronco eats grass which is a good thing cause the weather is good now and he's just not been eating enough. The vet didn't think he would survive the weekend ..... that was a week ago :)

Nomming some grassage!

Even closer!

I took those and went inside - looked out to check on him (the dog was out with him but I still watched for intruders) and this is what I saw - a sleepy little goat in the sunshine..... had to go back out and get a pic!

Yeah, about those lamb pictures...:biggrin2::waiting:

Glad to hear Lexi was pleased with Dakota - I often remind myself when I am showing that if my horse does what I want her to do and we try our best, I can be no more pleased. If the judge likes our performance, that's just the sprinkles on top of the whipped cream.

Also glad to hear he is feeling better - my girls had spring shots yesterday. While everyone else was wellmannered and stood like little ladies for our veterinarian (who I have had care for my girls for 20+ years), what a rodeo I had with Freedom... she had impaction colic two winters in a row and despite feeling like "poop", now her "mom" and vet want her to swallow the NG tube so they can pump oil and warm water into her so she fights us...has a bloody nose now and a sore belly and has to be tranquilized...

Freedom did not forget those two moments... even though that was four years ago, she was up on her hind legs dancing around until I grabbed her nose and hand-twitched her. The shots were done quickly and my mini mare was OK, as was I...and our vet would not have to endure any kicks - I work with the girls to make sure they are well-behaved for the farrier and vet.

Now, how about the lamb pictures? I love Bronco sunning himself - bet your horses are doing the same as mine are.

The receptionist at our horse vet's office usually has "bottle baby" lambs - I love hearing about them

THANKS ALL :)

Bronco got to go to the horse show today......... he was bombarded with "awwwwwwwwwwww, look at the cute baby goat!!!" and got a zillion kisses...... he liked it!

Kota did very well today. They were in 6 classes, big classes! and placed in 5. 1-2nd, 3-3rds and a 6th. Lots of bigtime AQHA horses and dead broke horses with new riders (little kids) in those classes...... she also won 3 hoofpicks and 3 sweatscrapers.....

Kota liked all the other horsies! He didn't freak out over all the balloons at a car sale next to the arena, and loaded in the trailer just fine! YAY! He DID try to go into a stall in the barn as we went by it...... the stall he stayed in at the county fair last year LOL!

I haven't been to the sheep barn so I havent' gotten any pics. I'll try to soon!

I've seen some horses do the "don't you freakin' try it dance" over shots and stuff. Kota and Pokie are usually good about it.... we usually do them ourselves.... I gotta get those this week - it was mid-May last year before they got them.

It's amazing to me how judges judge! There was Lexi, a man and a little girl in a class that I picked at the top 3 in the class.... 1 should have been the man, 2 Lexi and 3 the girl. The man was good and his horse was great! Lexi and Kota were really good - he took his cues, got the right leads and looked really cute..... the little girl was good too but her horse wouldn't take it's cue and cut Lexi and Kota off.... Loping as they were supposed to be trotting.... Guess who won the class? :Xbut I know who really placed where LOL!

I hear you on the judging, not to get off the thread. Been there, done that. That is when I decided if my horse does as I ask and I ride or handle well, then it has been a good day regardless of placings.

Congratulations to Lexi and Kota!!!

And to Bronco, for stealing the show in the way baby goats can!

Give him a pat from me!

Denise
