Ya do whatcha gotta do and then live with yourdecisions. If it makes you feel any better I cannot locateany actual statistics that say castration increases longevity amongstunbred bucks like spaying, obviously, saves does' lives. Manyclaims are made but I cannot find any substantiation for those claims.

Castration would reduce hormonally induced behaviors, no doubt, but ifyou are not suffering from them what have you lost? Not muchreally.

Good luck to you and Cadbury. Please keep us informed if you do change your mind at some point.

thats what I was doing today..I was looking tosee what happens if a I dont get him neutered all I saw was informationon does and them getting cancer eventually..but nothing on thebucks..and he's not a violent bunny at all I havent seen andy unusualbehavior in him just him being curious and nosey like most bunniesare..and when he does something that he's not suppose to I clap myhands real loud and say NO and he stops..and his lil face this morningjust wouldnt let me do it..the vet told me that I should wait a couplemonths until I feel comfy and if his behavior changes and he startsgetting mean..then I should consider it..until then she said the sameas u buck..it shouldnt be a problem..unless I get him a companion ofcourse then neutering is a must

i wouldnt worry too much.. they seem to get overit pretty darn quickly. my mr licks was back to his old selfin less than 2 days after his :) same goobery personality, but no more humping his sister :p

:shock:he was humping hissister...omy..well cadbury hasnt humped me yet or any teddy bears( heis quite fond of them tho) and he's 3 are there certain times whenrabbits go thru heat?

i think they're perpetually in heat lol.. ithink there might be times when girl bunnies are more likely to getpregnant, but can pretty much happen anytime..i'm sure the breedershere will jump in with the correct info there :)

how old is your cadbury again? most buns arentready until 3.5-4 months or so.. some longer.. they need to becompletely dropped first too i believe. and yes, mrlicks *loved* his sister a little too much :p luckily she wastoo young to get pregnant yet, or we were just realy reallylucky.. could barely tell he'd had anything done really. hewas a little slower the first day, but by the second he would have beenjetting around if we hadnt kept him in their cage most of the time..

cadbury is 3 so he'sa big boy..i dontknow if he's ever had any rabbit *nookie*:p..and maybe thats why hehasnt been humping anything unless he's bypassed that stage..i dontknow..but I'll think about getting him neutered if there are anydrastic changes but right now im too scared too

Hey..I also left a post in "what to expect after neutering"...

but now that I see you said he's 3, I'm not sure if neutering is safeat this age or not. I know for females, it gets riskier theolder they get, but I'm not sure for males.
