Hi, my name's Bettina, I'm fifteen years old and Australian. I'm the owner (sort of. Family pet) of a white, female Netherland Dwarf rabbit called Mochi. I previously also had an albino rabbit (not sure what breed he was) called Bun-Bun, but he unfortunately passed away from heat stress a week ago. :(

In my family, taking care of Mochi is a sort of joint effort. My part is to research the best way to take care of rabbits. Which is pretty much why I came to this forum. I hope to learn a lot from you all.

Pleased to meet you. *bows*

heat stress.?? 40 celcius/or more.??.for-18 mon.i had a handicapped havana rabbit called bunbun/rip..do you have a heat related problem//need air circulation, wet hands on ears, body, cold bottle(to lay by)-keep paws wet too. sincerely james waller

I mentioned I was Australian, and we currently have Summer here. Australian summers can get pretty hot. We're being much more careful with keeping the temperature down with our new rabbit.

:wave:hello and welcome to the forum. im sorry about bun-bun. you have definitely come to the right place for all things bunny tho'. dont be afraid to post on the main part of the forum if you have any bunny questions:bunnydance:

Let me welcome you to Rabbits Online, my name is Dave and I am a moderator on the forum. So if I can be of any help please let me know. This is a terrific website for rabbits and their slaves, not only is it very active but also friendly. I am so glad you’re here and I know you will enjoy it.

I’ve listed some links I thought you might find interesting:

*For reference the Library section

*To brag or tell everyone about the antics of your bunny or just to talk about your day here is where to start a Bunny Blog, you can also look back at it later and remember when you had a life before your bunny.

*Now all the bunny’s like talk to each other when we mere slaves aren’t around in the Bunny Chat is the spot to be.

*Rabbits Online also has regional forums , this a good way to find a vet in your area that has experience with rabbits and to find out from other nearby of good sources of rabbit supplies.

The Let Your Hare Down section is for anything non-bunny related.

Now every forum has rules and ours can be found with this link Rabbits Online Forum Rules. This gives guidelines on what is acceptable, what is not and how we hope everyone will treat each other.

Everyone on this forum loves to see pictures of each other’s bunnies. So if you would like to post a picture this link will help you do that, How to put photo's in your posts.

This the best site on the web for bunnies and I look forward to hearing stories and looking at pictures of your rabbit.

Hi Mochi - and good for you for being the "researcher".. It can take some research, never be afraid to ask questions (nor afraid to get whatever response)... Just keep in mind the advice given and try to make it work with your situation and if it doesn't, then ask again.

RO is one of the best sites for info - has alot of knowledgable people/buns on here.

I freeze ceramic tiles (like the ones you use for your floor) and place them in the pen, along with frozen water bottles (bunnies like to lay next to them and lick the condensation off of them).

What type of "pen" do you have your buns in currently? Are they outdoor or indoors?

Happy to help you figure it out - and welcome to RO!
