So, I posted pictures of the French Lop babies I have for sale. I'm basically selling all of them, because it's "out with the old, in with the new". Anyway, I had a LOT of people asking about them. I had buyers for 5 of the 8 within a few hours, and started telling others that asked about them that they were sold. Well, a little more than 24 hours later, only 3 are actually sold. One person said they positively wanted one of the bucks and one of the does, and now just wants the doe. One wanted a buck yesterday morning and now doesn't.

I should have stuck to my "first one to put 50% deposit down gets them" policy. Live and learn. The one that was still iffy is going to be out of luck, because I've contacted the next person in line and they sent me the money.

Live and learn...nothing is guaranteed until they send me a deposit. Now I look like an idiot saying, "That doe you were interested in? She's still available."

Done venting now....people irk me! :)

Darned flip floppers! At least you have some email addresses of people who may want them now!

Live and learn indeed. Those people who are flippy floppy probably weren't the best people suited for your cutie pies anyway! They don't know what they're missin out on!!!!

True that! ^

I love that deposit policy! Luckily show people aren't as flip floppy but sometimes they can be

These ARE show people! Pet people, once they say they want something, follow through. Hopefully whatever doesn't sell will sell at the PaSRBA Convention. Oh well, onward and upward...

We have had the opposite problem. Usually the show people know what they want and tend to follow through. We don't see that many pets, but they're the ones we have the most issues with changing their minds.

I think that you need to develop a sales policy for your rabbits and post it on your website. To give you an idea here is a link to my sales policy http://ldrabbitry.webs.com/salespolicy.htm. I developed this policy after trial and error and after looking at HUNDREDS of sales policys from other breeders. Also feel free to look around on my website. It is REALLY out of date but has some decent info (I think) on there and pictures that I like to refer to of my babies that I miss.

I don't do the hold thing either, first come first serve. You don't answer a message from me within 4 days(I understand work does get in the way) but I believe 4 days is enough time to respond back with an "I'm interested" or likewise. I don't post anything up for sale(if it's going with a pedigree and everything) until it's 6 weeks or older and I've determined I'm not keeping it in my barn.
If you don't mind, I'm going to keep working on my sales policy with the aid of yours Idoerr- fashion mine to go with our area.

I do have a sales policy on my site, and have had since I first built it. But I made the mistake of posting the French Lops in an album on my FaceBook page. The second I uploaded the photos I started getting people saying they wanted this or that one. Here's mine: http://westwindsrabbitry.com/policy.htm

On a bright note, I only have 1 buck and 1 doe that aren't sold. And only the one person hasn't put a deposit down, so I'm giving her until tomorrow and then she goes to the next one in line. The two that are left I think are because they would NOT pose and their pictures look horrible. But hopefully I'll move them at PaSRBA.

This buck:
West Wind's Bobby
Opal Buck
D.O.B: November 2, 2012
Sire: Spanish Oak's Sonny
Dam: West Wind's Blueberry

was giving you the funniest stink eye

Also it should be said if I were closer I would bunny nap nestle the polish with the injury :) so pretty!

I know! He was NOT happy, at all, with that whole posing stuff! LOL You could probably sneak off with any of the does, but mess with Nestle and I'll hunt you down. LOL He's my baby, and spoiled rotten! :)

NOTED! You have quite the rabbitry! I didn't realize you had one like that. It's a neat website too!

LOL! I love that bunny! His cage is on my sewing table in my den (where I spend most of my free time). If my daughter's in here listening to music, he'll start tapping his back foot to the beat. And he knows when I put my computer on standby that I'm heading to bed and he starts running back and forth in his cage...so I get him out for one last bit of loving. He spends a lot of time sitting on my chest, watching movies and surfing the net with me. LOL

The rabbit that started it all is Adeline. It's been a long first year, but we're finally making progress. Thanks about my website. I usually change the graphics all out every month or so. Kitty wanted purple this time, so that's what it is now. LOL
