Couldn't think of anything snappy for today:?

It cool crisp and clear this morning.....brrrr.
Even had to warm up the coffee mug before I poured :p

It was a loooong night.
I was up with Chippy....she's not feeling well....again.:sigh:
She's not eating normal.
Large mushy smelly poops.
She seems to be drinking and peeing okay.
She's nibbled at her hay cube.
She looked a bit rough and lethargic this morning.

She hasn't been 100% since she last got sick. I've been giving her a small daily dose of Acidophilus in an attempt to keep her gut stable.

Maybe I'll run home at lunch time to check on her.

It's going to be a long day.
MORE COFFEE PLEEEEZE!:caffeine

*Makes Jim a huge mug of strong coffee* ...... Sorry, was that too strong? I don't touch the stuff LOL!

Jim, do you give Chippy salads? I had to stop giving them to Bo for that very reason. I give him a pinch of cilantro, or parsley or something a couple of times a week and that's it. a pinch of cilantro would be about 6 stems and leaves cut about 4 inches long or less.

I am playing hooky today. Actually, I'm not - I just didn't work cause I have a cold and ear is bothering me. Plus, I've injured my knee and I just didn't feel like going and pushing myself.

This is my one house week and I'll have both to do next week. So I thought it might be a good break for me. I know that sounds awful since I only work those days but the houses I clean are huge and I really haul my butt through them. I am tired for at least a day after.

*** the stronger the coffee, the better....keep 'em coming***

Chippy doesn't get salads. She loved romaine, parsley & cilantro, but she used to get soft/mushy poops from even the littlest portion.

She gets a mix of pellets 66% timothy /33% alfalfa. Breakfast & Supper.

In the morning she get a pinch of rolled oats.
In the evening she gets some sunflower seeds and a small pieces of dried papaya. I slice the papaya into little slices and coat it with the Acidophilus.
She always has timothy cubes.
And only bottled water for the babybunnywunny.

All of the bags of pellets are almost empty, so I'm just going to toss them and open new bags.
I'm also going to cut back on the alfalfa pellets in case its a protein overload (kind of hope that's what it is).
If she has issues tomorrow morning, I'll cut back on the rolled oats in case it's a carb thing.
I need to pick up some baby food in case I need to mix up some meds.
I think I've got everything else for home treating that I'd need.

DITTO!

I'm even taking Claritan D which always helps my nose - allergies.

I want to go back to bed. I have been really tired the past 2 or 3 days.

I hope you get to feeling better....

....Chippy is!!

I checked on her a lunch and she seemed a LOT better.

She left about 3 dozen poops that were as close to normal as she gets them.
She was chowing down on a hay cube.
About half of her pellets were gone, so I emptied her bowl and gave her a new ration of just timothy.
Her water bowl was half empty.

Go figure?!?!

Jim, I don't know if this will help at all, but Anna was constantly getting a dirty behind from soft poops. I wound up having to cut back on her pellets (for that reason, and the fact that she was gaining a lot of weight)...I actually took her off of pellets altogether for a while. She lost some weight and hasn't had mushy poop issues in some time now. I give her just a smidgeon (of pellets) every couple of days now, but that's it. She seems to do better with mostly veggies and hay in her diet instead (and the occasional fruit).

I hope Chippy feels better soon...:hug2:

P.S....Y'all need some Tuesday lyrics for this thread! Here's some (ala Lynyrd Skynyrd, with a word change or two by moi):

Train roll on, on down the line,
Won't you please take me far away?
Now I feel the wind blow outside my door,
Means I'm leaving my'puter behind.
Tuesday's gone with the wind.
My ISP's gone with the wind.

:p

The only time I offer Alfalfa is when the bunnies go off their feedor a rare treat. Hay and flaxseed works the best for me to get large plump poops.

Too much pellets or too much vegs give my two bunnies excess cecals.

I haven't reported on Pebbles sneezing lately. It's been 2-3 weeks since she finished her antibiotics. But the doctor has me misting/spraying Pebbles nose with Claritin D once a day. Yes I use the nasal pump and shoot the stuff up her nose. :p Her sneezing is very minimal and a dry sneeze at that. No more gunk coming out of her nose now. :dude:

Hey Jim, how much pellets does Chippy get in a day? Fey only gets 2 tablespoons at a time twice a day of timothy pellets. She can handle a little more but that's pushing it. Too much more and her poops get more wonky than usual. Unfortunately she's a very active girl and even with her large salads (thankfully not sensitive to veggies!) she tends to be a bit too skinny. So I've been giving her a tiny bit of sunflower and flax seeds. More protein yes, but also more fat and both in small amounts. It does seem to be helping and definitely did help to get her rough fur back to it's normal softness.

Stan, I'm really glad Pebbles is feeling better! That nasal spray thing must be almost the size of her head. Mocha would kill me if I tried that with her!

Chippy is still doing well.

She's much more active, and her general appearance has improved.

I give her about 3 tbsp of pellets twice a day....and she usually doesn't finish them all.
She tends to be on the skinny side, so I was hoping that the added alfalfa might help her put on some weight and retain it.
I've used them for the buns when they go off their feed, too.
Chippy got pretty spoiled the last time she was under the weather, and sometimes will hold out for them as long as she can.

I've been giving them a bit of extra sunflower seeds recently, too.
The new bunnie room is a little cooler than the rest of the house, so the intention was to help them keep warm....and I think Chippy may be more sensitive to the extra.

This morning Chippy let me pick her up (unusual in itself) and I cradled her for a while, telling her that she couldn't get sick now because I needed to go away for a few days and her mommy would be taking care of her.
She just stared at me......... and then winked one eye.
I could almost feel her understanding me.

So call me strange!

So anywho...
I'm watching the Beatles movie "Help". I LOVE the Beatles!!!!!
"Night of the Lepus" is in the player ready to go at 9pm!!

I've got to feed the buns and change litter pans. Got to get to work before it gets too late.

Gonna try to carve some pumpkins tonight, too!

Oops! Sorry, just realized that the amount of pellets I said was actually what Fey and Sprite were getting together. Lonely Fey only gets 1 tbsp of pelletstwice a day. Plus maybe 2.5 cups of veggies a day and a ton of hay.

So maybe try reducing Chippy's pellets even more? How much does she weigh? Fey is about 3.5 lbs.
