1. my bunny rips out his fur and i literally pulled out his fur from his throat. it was so long and sometimes there was a fur ball.

2. he makes weird noises like honking and wants to be petted. he lays down under my hand and stuff. i know this is a good thing but compared to what he did ,rip off his fur, i dont know what to think.

he is 10 or 11 months old and never ripped out his fur before.

Is it possible he is going through a molt? Rabbits go through molts regularly, meaning there are certain periods throughout the year where they shed a lot of fur, so it is very easy to ease fur out. If this is the case, it is important that you groom your rabbit daily, as you do not want him ingesting the fur. As you mentioned, fur balls can happen, so you want to help your rabbit as much as possible. It is dangerous for a rabbit to ingest too much fur. Also, if you have a rabbit with longer fur, it's important that you are grooming regularly to prevent mats.

If your rabbit is not molting and is simply ripping out fur, two things come to mind:
1) Is your rabbit particularly stressed? Is he pooping, peeing, and being energetic, as usual?
2) Is your rabbit definitely a male? I am not experienced with non-spayed females, but I know females who are not spayed will begin to pull fur as a part of nesting behavior. Other members can likely tell you if this is an age where that may come up.

... as for the noises, that sounds very hormonal and normal. Paired with fur-pulling, I do wonder if your rabbit is actually a female?

Really sounds like a girl going through a false pregnancy. Or a real one, if there is a male around. I have never seen a male ripping his fur out (not completly unheard of though, I think, but very, very rare)

Thinking about it, non of my does were cuddly in any way when it was about nesting, so quite likely just a false pregnancy if it's actually a female.

If there is a male around, better seperate him right now!

If he is molting, it's possible that hair is just going to fall out in clumps! Lawrence's first molt was like this, I thought he had mange or something; TONS of hair would come out when I petted him! I think the first molt can be pretty heavy. Lawrence molts regularly, but has never molted as bad as the first time.

Buuuuttt.... If he is pulling out his own chest (dewlap) hair, I'd wager you have a girl bun as well!

the man who gave me soya said that he is a boy but i couldnt really confirmed it cuz he hates being held. when he is in heat i can hold him easily but now its too hard. he doesnt even let me clip his nails. that brat. thank you for the solutions i kinda relieved.. i think he is molting and i definitely groom him asap
