It dawned on me tonight that Art's birthday is on Saturday and I haven't done anything Robin & I had talked about (we were going to take a screen shot of his main character in Lord of the Rings Online (who is level 50 in the game) and then have them put it on a cake and say something like "Congrats on level 50".

I'm out of color ink - not sure how I can get them to see the picture or even if I have enough time.

So the kids and I were tossing around some ideas for what to put on his cake...

Robin: "You're not old, you're just . . uh, ok, you're old"

Eric: "You're not old.... you are just like a well aged whiskey... smelly, bites, and foggy of mind...."

Robin: "have them draw the Old Spice logo on it, write 'A Man of Experience'

Robin again (thinking of the LoTRO character again)

Any other suggestions anyone?

You have to understand my family's sense of humor to really "get" this one....after all - we named a Flemish Giant "Tiny" ... .right?

Well - my family is into puns..

So we ordered Art this cake:

The writing that will be on it:

Old?

BOULDERDASH!

(For those who don't get it - its normally "balderdash")

He loved it.

It was funny - because Robin & I were out getting his cake and Eric had lunch break and was in an online game with Ar t and saying, "So how is your birthday? Did you get a cake or anything? (He knew we were getting Art a cake and even what it said). Art was like, "Oh....its really simple - no cake or anything major..just the way I like it.

Of course- Eric goes back to work - and Robin and I walk in with the cake and Java Chocolate Chunk ice cream and subs from Subway....
