Well, it looks like tropical storm/hurricane Fay is going to be getting us. last night we were going to be in the north east bit of it, not good. on a brighter note, the 2004 storms got so many of our trees, maybe the ones lest and good root and won't come down! and my sister wants to know why it's a tropical storm if there'snot going to be any 'tropical' stuff coming with it. she's very mad, LOL!

any way, any one else in the storms path? and yes, we've got plenty of hay, food, litter, ect for Jamie. and the fish. and the cats. i'm not sure about us, though:biggrin2:! Mom'll have checked last night and we'll probably run out again. and my friend, who moved here two years ago and hasn't been thru a storm wants a doozy so he can get out of school tomorrow:shock:. almost popped him:D.

so, here's hoping we all make it thru safe!

We are in the path right when it hits Georgia. It shouldn't be too bad here though. Last time our power only went out for maybe three hours and that hurricane looked a lot worse than this one. We will just get a lot of rain. I hope those closer will be ok.

heheh I just missed it- Bailey and I are back in RI right now, but Eckerd College is evacuating today, so we would have had to move! Glad everyone else around there is safe/and or prepared.... I'll be thinking about you!

Eh.....this is just a baby storm. Just strong enough to get a day off from work. Winds shouldn't get more than 50 mph. My house is actually the designated emergency bunny shelter for my area - we are very well prepared.

Patti, everything still ok down there? I was seeing all the flooding on the news near your area.

I hope the Gainesville bunnies are ok too!

yeah, how're things going Patti? our neighborhood isn't flooded, we haven't been out past that, so i'm not sure from there what it's like. so water blew in under the garage door but mom took care of it with some towels. we have a JDRF meeting tomorrow so if we go i'll get to see what the 'out side world' looks like, post Fay. we haven't left the house since monday and i'm about to go nuts. between being cooped up and high school i'm going crazy! any way, we're still alive, Jamie's bored, the back porch flooded and since he just runs right through the water and gets all messy, he's been inside. poor baby! he's all like this-:waiting:

All is good here. The big flooding was south of us. I didn't go to work on Wednesday or Thursday. It just wasn't safe to make a 60 mile commute. We had a 20 ft. limb fall in our yard, but it didn't hit anything. My front yard is full of spanish moss and leaves though.

One of my co-workers told me that she got blown over in the parking lot yesterday. The wind was so strong that she couldn't get up without assistance.

The Gainesville bunnies are fine. I'm supposed to drive to Ocala tomorrow afternoon to deliver some rabbits to them, but we will have to play that trip by ear. TS Fay is visiting there right now.

My power/phone/internet/tv have been out since Wednesday. I'm sitting in my truck outside of a sushi place that has wifi so I can download some information for my lesson plans. I dare not shock Elf's system by bringing her into the ac of the truck as I think the temperature change would be too drastic. She seems to be doing all right. It's been very overcast here still, so the temperature in the house isn't too insane, yet. We lost all the food in our refrigerator, and I'm pretty sure what is in the freezers will be toast too if we don't get power on today.

It's been a very frustrating few days! :( I'll share photos of the damage after I can get online at home and download photos.

Goodness, you folks up north have really been slammed a lot worse than we were. My boss is in Jacksonville and reported that he was without electricity and internet. He was communicating via cell phone.

Im so glad to hear you are all ok!

Poor Elf Mommy with no power! I always throw a fit when ours goes out in the summer- and its not nearly as hot here. Im guessing the school has power? Poor you :(

Ugh, stupid Fay. I got hit by it TWICE. My brother loved it, their first day of school was pushed back two days. But after it hit south FL, it curved up and went directly over Gainesville, where I was supposed to move in Thursday. I had to wait till Friday, and got hit by mad rain on the drive. My roommate hydroplaned and spun her car and crashed into a guard rail. And it hasn't stopped raining.

:grumpy:

There were a lot of downed trees and flooding here. We had to drive through it to and from Dothan. There were a lot of roadblocks and places the road was closed. A couple we know had a tree fall on their house. :(
We only have a pine tree in out backyard and then a tree at the corner and we have branches everywhere. I suppose this probably isn't as bad as the three in '04 but I got a bigger picture this time because I was driving through it for eight hours.
