So I originally was going to just put thesepictures of Trixie in Denise's original blog, but I figure that it's anew year, and everybody else is starting new blogs...and since the NewYear coincides with her new CA home, I would just start a new one forher, too!

Here is Trixie's prior bunny blog, for those that would like to recap her growing up with sweet Denise :)...

Trixie looks so happy there, I'm really glad she went to a wonderful home :jumpforjoy:.

Great pictures too! Thank goodness that hubby of yours remembered toget them processed or he'd be in big trouble, lots of fist shaking and"why I orta" would have been ensueing.

I love that one of your daughter picking her nose, what a funny pic! :happydance

Do Trix and Flower seem to like eachother so far?

Aww...you will ALWAYS get props from me,Hun!! You did most of the work in raising her...I've got thesimple job of maintaining what you've already established! :D

I think you're wonderful...a wonderful bunny mommy...a wonderful person...and a wonderful friend. :D

She really does fit in perfectly, too...it's funny, I tell my husbandall the time that she seems to have been the connection Maisie andFlower needed. They always seemed so far apart, and I didn'trealize it until Trixie came into our lives and provided thatconnection. I don't know how to explain it...it's like shewas the missing link in our bunny family. I'm so happy she'shere!! :) She's so sweet and lovely...*sigh*...I amso blessed, and it's all because of you, Denise! :)And that's something I will NEVER forget...:D

It's funny...my husband was on his way home, andrealized he'd dropped off the pictures near the jobsite (half an hourfrom where he was at the time), and forgot to pick them up.And when he called me, he asked if I wanted him to go back and pickthem up (later on, he told me he was secretly hoping I would say no,hehe), and I said, "You have NO idea...if you don't pick those up, Ican't be responsible for what those crazy bunny ladies (and men) willdo in response!!" So, he drove all the way back and pickedthem up. What a wonderful man! Hehe!!

Very much so!! They lay next to each otherall the time while in their separate cages. They have a levelthat I made in common with one another, and they're always in the samespace. It's so cute!! I think the ONLY hurdle withbonding will be how Maisie reacts...because Trix and Flower are smittenwith each other! And, ultimately, if Maisie decides shedoesn't wanna be part of the LoveFest, it's totally fine. Ithink she's happier being bonded with me anyway.Hehe!

So, a little more about how things are going...

Trixie has settled right in here. The only problem she everhad in settling in was a couple days of not eating her pellets (thoughshe was eating plenty of hay and drinking lots, so I wasn't tooworried)...but believe me, those times are LONG gone!! She'seating everything heartily, and I call her my little Poop Machine(which sends her into binkies everytime I say it...I think she's proudof her poops, hehe!).

She's such a sweetheart! Yes, she's more independant thanFlower, but boy she loves being pet and kissed and loved on!Just about everytime I go near her cage, she comes bounding up to thetop floor for love...and some nosey kisses...which I think is SOCUTE!! She loves it when I pet her on the scruff between herears, and pet her from her head down her back. She hunkersdown for a good pet, and it just never ends. She never tiresof the love...what a sweetie-pie!!

Denise, you did such a wonderful job raising her...she's so sweet, andso patient, and adjusted so well. We could tell from the veryMOMENT she came home that she'd been raised in a very stable, lovingenvironment. She was so calm and curious and friendly fromthe very first moment! She had no fear...and though shewasn't quite ready for love at first, she really warmed up to it within24 hours of being here!
You should have seen the look of surprise she got when I first calledher by name. I think it was something akin to, "How do YOUknow my name?!" It was so adorable...andunmistakable! Hehe!! I got the same look ofamazement when I called her "Smooshy Face", too...it was so funny!!

I've also learned what a complete HAM she is. WOW!!Whenever she heard me changing the zoom on the camera, she would*freeze* in that pose I mentioned in the above pictures!! Andshe wouldn't move again until I took the picture!!HAHA!! It was so funny! I had a bit of a hard timegetting natural pictures of her because she kept posing!HEHE!!

Also, she actually DID wind up jumping on the couch...that picture ofher standing with her front paws on the couch when Hobbes is on thecouch was actually after she'd already jumped up once! I wasso surprised! I think Hobbes was, too...he was across theroom, and shortly after she jumped down, he came over and laid down inthat spot, guarding his favorite place to lay!Hehe! He wouldn't have been mean about it, or anything...noworries about that (Hobbes doesn't have a mean bone in hisbody!). He just wanted to communicate that it was hisfavorite spot, and was basically just laying there so shecouldn't. :) He's so funny!

Anyway, things are going wonderfully. I feel like Trixie'sbeen here forever, and it'll only a week tomorrow that she's beenhere! She's already become such a big part of the family, andit literally feels like she was that missing link in ourfamily.

I love our family...3 bunnies, 2 kitties, 1 adorable daughter, and wetwo newlyweds (which is what I'll always consider us tobe). :D

Wow, monklover...yer not kiddin'!!! :D

Awww! I think you're great, too, Rosie. Paul andI are so pleased with how everything turned out and how dedicated youare to Trixie and the rest of the gang. Your love and compassion forthem is quite evident in each and every one of your posts. We sincerelyare so happy and comfortable and are not worried even a fraction ofasecond about Trixie, because we know we made the perfectchoice for her in sending her out to you. You and your family are truly"kindred spirits" ;)and I MEAN IT!

I wish all bunny moms and dad were like the people on this forum. Ithink our bunnies are the truly lucky ones, to have mommies and daddieslike us on RO. My heart breaks for all the others sitting in theirsmall, cramped cages with no room to hop or no one to play with. Everyday I see ads for bunnies on Craigs list, and it breaks my heart.

Anyway, it was a wonderful journey - raising Trix from a small ball offur to the elegant princess she is today. But I couldn't have done itwithout the help and advice of the people on this forum. So, eventhough Paul and I had a hand in Trix's upbringing, it's truly the kind, caring people of Rabbits Only, like you, Rosie, who made it sorewarding!

love,
Denise and Paul
