The outdoor temperature can be estimated to within several degrees by timing the chirps of a cricket. It is done this way: count the number of chirps in a 15-second period, and add 37 to the total. The result will be very close to the actual Fahrenheit temperature. This formula, however, only works in warm weather.

That does work! :) I did it last summer, and was so surprised at how close it came to the actual temperature! :)

But isn't America the name of the continent? We never were told to break the name into North and South in school when discussing continents.

We were taught the North and South America thing here, too. We're odd.

Duck's quacks DO echo, but the actual quack is followed almost immediately by its echo, so we cannot hear it. It was on Myth Busters once. :D

The world's youngest human female to give birth (by cesarean) was only five years old and was from Peru.
