The idea of trimming her hair by her eyes makes me nervous on many different levels, but I did want to ask some of you who are acquainted with long haired, lion-heads, woolys, angora's etc...

Would it be ok or a good idea to trim the hair from about her eyes. The foster mom says she seems to get startled because she doesn't see you coming but does calm down when she smells it is you...

Would it be a better thing for her nerves,stress...to allow her better, unobstructed view, and if so what would be the safest way to go about that....

I have never done trimming around the eye butI am sure there are forum members who have. Don't try anything yourself.
possibly someone can give you a very safe way to do this but if not may be best for a very experienced vet or even anyone who shows rabbits/ has a lot ofexperience trimming and does it frequently to show you how or do it .......at least the first time.

Could the hair really be dense enough to obstruct the view? I never noticed a difference in vision between my longhaired and short haired rabbits.

The foster mom thinks it is the hair..I only got about an hour with her so I am not sure. But I don't like the idea of scaring her if she doesn't see me coming.
