o wow!!! seeing pictures of that is the only way i could have beleived that.
i have no idea how the dog could get stuck there though! thats crazy!

I've gotta admit, that story kind of disgusts me. You hit something like a coyote and don't think to stop to see if it's still alive? They had two fuel stops and didn't notice something living stuck to their car?

I mean, I'm happy it's pretty much okay, beyond the shock of the thing and a few scrapes, but jeeze. What if that had been someone's pet dog/cat? Would they have heartlessly left it as dead then too?

I didn't mean to imply that they did the right thing by continuing to drive and not checking on the animal....

I just thought it was amazing that Tricky was still alive through all that and that he even got out of his cage later on and escaped on his own.

Oh! Sorry if you thought that was an attack on the story/you, I didn't mean that. I'm just saying, the article itself seems a bit light-hearted about the whole thing when they were so careless about a living creature. It is amazing that the animal managed to survive such an ordeal, I just wish they had taken five seconds out of their lives to even stop the car and look behind them for any trace of a dead/dying animal, or you know, noticed the giant pile of fur hanging out of the front of the car when they stopped for gas.

I'm certainly glad the coyote survived and all... but I'm pretty sure, at least in Los Angeles, it's illegal to hit an animal and not stop to see if it's dead and if it's not to call animal control or take it to a vet. I can't imagine hitting an animal and not stopping, particularly something as large as a coyote.
