Hello, just made a ramp for my rabbit out of some untreated wood. If he gets any pee on it though, it'll be ruined correct?

Since that's the case, can I treat it with a natural solution? Internet says "canola oil (3 parts) and vinegar (1 part) makes a dandy wood sealant," link

But I don't want that to make the wood more yummy to the rabbit (besides the fact they don't like vinegar).

Thanks!

Rabbits cannot have canola oil so I would not put that on the wood in case he chews it. If he does pee on it, which is not likely if he is litter trained, it should not be ruined. It will only be ruined if he pees on it continuously and you don't clean it up. If he does pee on it, soak the pee up with a paper towel and put it in his litter box. Spray the spot he peed with a vinegar/water mixture and wipe it up with a paper towel.

It might not be a good food given in considerable doses, but in that amounts it really doesn't matter, they wont eat the whole ramp.

No, pee on it doesn't ruin wood, it will still last decades if it dries up. The untreated hutch floors of my old solid floor wood hutches are still ok after 8 years (random recycled pallet wood)

Now I use a mix of sunflower seed oil (cheap) and linseed oil (hardens better) to impregnate wood that needs to be weatherproof, or for the hutch floor grate. Any oil with a high iodine level (makes it harden and stay in the wood) is ok.

Right, that's yummy. There was some nibbling. Now I paint the grates with diluted rabbit urine, and rinse it off, enough smell, only noticeable to the rabbits, stays on so that they don't like it. Can't tell about the vingar, need to try this, somewhat less yucky :D

Can you post a photo of your enclosure? Often ramps aren't even needed. Ramps take up quite a bit of floor space.

I'd agree that it's unlikely bunny will pee on a ramp nevertheless. They won't piddle while hopping about. They choose a spot or two and tend to potty in the same place naturally. That is why litter training is so easy.
