I was told its a good idea to treat 2x a year for cocci.

There is a brand called Sulfadimethoxine that is a powder at the feed store for mammals..that treats for it.

Wondering if anyone heard of it. They didnt have corrid..in which someone said they used.

Thanks

Sulfadimethoxine is the same as Albon, which lots of people use to treat Cocci. It comes in powder or liquid. Most vets recommend not treating unless you have confirmation of infection... see symptoms (Loose stools, foul smell, wasting or losing weight or condition) andget a fecal float done. But some people treat preventatively...(if they show their rabbits and they are exposed to rabbits from outside their herd.)

The Sulfadimethoxine is usually mixed with water and given as the sole source of water for 5 days, withdrawn for 3 days and given again for 5 days. With a thorough cleaning of the cage, tray/floorand attachments on the 5th or 6th day. If a heavy infestation is shown to be present, it can be given for 14 days straight. Again, with a thorough cleaning of cages, trays and area.
