I live in a country that has little to no rabbit treats (never has and probably never will have any), and I can't order through the internet since I don't have a credit card.

Can anyone share some rabbit treat recipes with me? I'd love to make my girls some tasty snacks!

They sound good - the only problem is that I can't buy rabbit pellets here! They have some in their regular mix, but I'd have to go fishing them all out which means they won't get any at all...

Hi Hollie!

:cooking:It's funny how that recipe goes around:popcorn2. I think I found it on the HRS site:eats.
And before that, I think it was a people food recipe that used smoe kind of flour where we call for pellets.:dunno

Let's see...what can we substitute for pellets that would still be okay for the buns and would work with the recipe????:help
:anyone

After thinking about it.....it might be a good idea to use the food you give to the buns. You don't want to upset their system with something completely new.

IMO...it would be worth picking out a 1/4 cup of the pellets just to see the reation when they get the treat!!:bunnydance:

....oooooooh, sorry.

I used a rolling pin the first time because I wasn't allowed to used the blender or processor.
The next time I made them I used the coffee grinder and it worked great.
Got a rock....believe me they're worth it!!!

I used to make a batch every month or so and freeze them. I swear the bunnies could hear me take them out of the freezer. They go nuts for them!!!!

I mixed in crasins and rasins, and they come out a little more like brownies than biscuts. yummmmmmm

Using the throw-away aluminum pans works really well, too.

I doubled the recipee since I have lots of buns.....

I substituted the banana for three overripe kiwis and one over ripe plum....I mixed in 6 baby carrots and 3/4 of an apple..instead of oats, quick oats..and instead of honey i used grape jam! (I didn't have all the ingredients....oh how I adore baking and brainstorming, yay!)

They smelled GOOD to me and I just might take a nibble (of course, i'm part horse b/c i'd always nibble sugar cubes/horse cookies/goat feed and hay so I think things like that taste good!) :craziness

Ifigure out I was using the wrong blender:?...I found the old one with fancy buttons like "puree" and "grind" and about ten other options!

:great:They look GOOD!! Are those crasins on top??

I make mine in a sheet....like brownies and then cut them up.

And...YES....I tasted them too! They're the bunniehuggers binkie!!!!:bunnydance:

Yup, craisin toppings! I decided I didn't want to mess with rolling them out and all that (I use as little bowls as I can I hate to clean and waste stuff, although the cookings fun)....they're smaller in real life than they look in the picture! LOL

I use the disposable baking pans...I think it's the loaf size. I take the whole mix and just press it evenly into the pan. A little vegtable spray to keep it from sticking. It comes out in one piece and cuts easy with a sharp knife.

After the ingrediants, I just kind of made it up as I went along, trying to make it as easy as possible. I hate to clean and waste, too.

Mine love frozen papaya!:bunnydance:
I've also given them frozen pumpkin, too.
Frozen bananas sound good!

What's your recipe? :?

Inquiring minds want to know!:)

well I have several recipes,:)I guess first I'll list the items in it.

1.Recipe

items to get.

10 small chunks of watermellon.

6 grapes cut in half.

4 slices of cucumber

there are two ways to make the first one...the first way is for young rabbits/small breeds easier to eat, take the watermellon, grapes, cucumber and put them in a blender then then put it on grind and hold the button down for about 10 seconds after that combine the apple juice then pour the mixter into the two cups and put it it the freezer for about 6 hours.(if you want to add a little extra wait untill it just barely starts to breeze then but a carrot in the middle acting like a eddible popsicle stick)

and theeeeeeeres the first one I have other rabbit popsicle recipes and a few other things, such as cookie like creations.:)

*walks around searching for the recipe book*

When I find my book of pet recipes I'll be back. *runs off to search*
