Sophie's Humble Servant

I took a quick weekend trip away and left Sophie in very capable hands while I was gone.

She was happy to see me when I returned, did a lot of running and binkying but she will NOT allow me to brush her fur! I was able to brush daily before.

What the heck? She didn't get brushed while I was away but I was literally only gone for 3 days and her tolerance is zero. I can pet her, kiss her, but as soon as I start to brush she hops away. She won't even let me pluck her fur!

Why? What should I do? Her fur needs to be brushed, she looks like a nappy monkey and I don't want her wool to get blocked in her intestines!

Thanks:)
She did let me pluck her today so that's a start!

In my experience brushing isn't very fun for bunnies. Maybe she tolerated it before because she figured she had no choice, but now she's punch drunk on the 3 days of brush-free freedom and doesn't want it to stop! I'd quickly bring her back to her old routine and enforce the brushing, let her know Mummy's back and she means business.

I've actually considered giving my bunnies a serious trim/shear before, they hate brushing so much.

Maybe it's because he has shorter fur, but Bandit enjoys being brushed. I wouldn't say he loves it, but sometimes he just settles into a little bun-loaf and enjoys it :)

I'm glad you've made some progress with plucking her fur, hopefully she'll let you brush her again soon.

LOL! Punch drunk indeed!

Yes she did get spoiled with no brushes for 3 days...I didn't realise how much she was going to fight it! I broke up her papaya tablet into a few pieces and used it to distract her as I brushed a bit. She was like, "just gimme my candy and leave me alone!" Lol, I sure love that lil beastie:)
