Tommorrow my *baby boy* is 15..
We have an exciting weekend planned.. I get to begin the day by going to my oncologist... *joy* I got rescheduled for tommorrow, which I really wanted to avoid unpleasantries about hootie lumps being discussed on my son's birthday, but I have to take what appointment I can be squeezed in for.
Blake's sister, yanno the sister with the *mystery lump* in her belly,will be in attendence. Her daddy, who had literally been sick about it for 2 days, home from work, called her and spoke to her. There's a big difference between me, the stepmom, and when your Daddy calls. Apparently, his dissapproval was too much for her to face. Rick and I were raised, as well as we raise our boys to face the music when you do something. She was not raised like that.
Blake, His Daddy, Greg, Ty's Daddy, and Ty, and about 20 to 25 other boys will be invading Hooter's tommorrow night. I will be at home with the little bothers... err... brothers.
Saturday, we are having a HUGE get together..well, it didn't start out that way. Just family and a few close friends has turned into over 100 kids and adults, 200lbs of boiled crawfish, taters and corn on the cob (you boil it all together with cajun seasoning) and a HUGE bonfire. Cake of course.. and assorted gift giving, the biggest gift coming from us.. (I will share the pics later, keepin it a surprise!)
The Highschool called today, Blake will be rejoining the population next year, and Coach Matthews was brought into Blake's ARD, Coach Matthews is the head football coach and regarded as a local god... ever seen the movie or the series Friday Night Lights? Yeah.. that's how Texas is with HS football. The earth stops spinning on it's axis when it's Friday night in Autumn..Blake was trained by Coach Matthews, and by other coaches using his methodology when Blake was ages 6-12 in the by invitation only league., so he remembers Blake. He feels that with Blake coming in at 6ft1 now, and around 210, with his speed, he would make an excellent tailback. Blake was pretty stoked, to say the least. He also wants to run Blake through the powerlifting program in the off season. I think.. my son just may make it being... a normal kid..
