CONGRATULATIONS KiwiKi! :dude:

Toffee is just adorable, and she looks so at ease in these pictures.I'm so happy for her to have found her way to such a loving home. Can'twait to hear all about her.

Welcome Home, Toffee! :)

Thanks guys! Boy do I think she's a cutie! So far, not a poop out of the litterbox either ;)

Toffee is beautiful!

It is so nice to hear of a rabbit getting rehomed to a loving home. Ibet she is glad to be with you after being chased by a dog.

Thanks to you all, lol. She greeted me this morning with her paws up on the cage wanting a good ol scratch. :):):)

I hope she warms up to us more. I know it's only the 2nd daylol. She is doingmuch better compared to our birds, when they first came home!!! Toffeelikes to be scratched andpetted but she doesn't like being picked up AT ALL. Theproblem with this is that I want to let her out to get some exercizeand I'm afraid I'll have trouble getting her back in. Maybe Ishould wait a couple days until she is used to us???

See ya

My rabbits, also rescues, still don't like beingpicked up. I don't think they ever will. We just spend quality timewith them on the floor! We use the ol' bait trick to get them back intothe cage. Judy knows the sound of the food bag, and Harold (who isdeaf) usually just follows her in. And if that doesn't work, theygenerally come straight to us if we sit on the floor and motion tothem, so we can just usher them into the cage at that point. Or pickthem up for just a moment to get them in. It's not as hard as you thinkas long as there isn't alot of things for her to hide under!

Pebbles was finicky when we first picked herup. Rabbits like to be secure and to have four feeton the ground. If you grasp them firm enough theywon't run or kick. Pether first before you pick herup. Then hold them close to yourbody. If they feel like running, press their headdownto the floor and cover their eyes, so they canrelax. But don't chase them when they dorun, it only scares them more. We have noproblems handling Pebbles now.

Rainbows! :)

Toffee is beautiful. Sounds like she is settlingin quickly - she is probably so happy to have a loving forever home. Iwould let her settle before letting her out, and, like EEM said, foodworks wonders for getting them back inside :D- Jan

What a beautiful girl! I am so glad you adoptedher, stories like that really warm my heart. I can't wait to hear moreabout her and her personality. Personally, I feel that rabbits knowwhen they've been rescued and it really shows. Chompers is my rescuerabbit and he's the most affectionate of my three.

I think we're gong to finish bunny proofin thehouse and then we will let her out. She is already begging;)and that is oh so hard to resist. So much morethan a cat or dog!!!

I think maybe there's some posts alerady on literbox training, I willhave to look, but if anybody wants to tell me how to....help themperfect it that would be grrreat. She does very well exceptabotu 5 or6 droppings out of the box during the course of24hrs. I know this is really good for a bun nad for justbeing home and all...but I dont want poopoo's in my house!!!

Toffee LOVES romain lettuce I have found out...how much is good togive? Again i know there are different opinions on this, butI'd love to hear them all.

As far as the picking up goes, I am not going to rush her. I willprobably just lure her in for awhile until she starts coming to us andis truly comfortable. :)
THANKS!

That's really good.......you can't get it 100% all thetime. Pebbles always leaves one by the litter box.But I think it pops out when she is jumping out of her box.

Just give Toffee time and she'll be a perfect house bunny. :dude:

Rainbows! :)

Well I suppose I can live with a few out of thebox ;) I think that some of them are because ofhopping out. she will be a great house bunny!

Today she started tearing up the carpet!!! I think she is bored, so weare going to let her out tongiht for awhile and hpefully that fixes thepoor thing's boredom. :)Toodles!

Update: !!!!

Toffee is out and about right now...we have her pen open so she cancome in and out as she pleases. (While we're able tosupervise!) Let me just say, SHE IS SO CUTE! The poor girlhad been caged at the humane society for over a month so she hadn't runaround. And boy did she today! Darting and twistingand turning, rounding them corners, lol. She did very wellwith the litterbox too. Absolutly perfect.

In response to the toys comment, I am going to get a woodblock tomorrow(I forgot to buy one) so she can really chew on that. She hastoilet paper tube, cardboard box, a ball, a pillow she throwsaround...other ideas? I was suggested to view a thread posteda while back on toys, and I will have a look....

Oh! And I picked her up...she was calm once I held her snug against me,so I held her for a little bit.:)Melts...lol...It may notseem like that big of a deal but I guess the 'firsts' are kinda special.

The humane society is giving us a free vet visit for a checkup so I ammaking an appointment for her ASAP. Any of you Seattle peoplehave suggestions? Are there any Washingtonions on this board?;)

from the washington house rabbit society they listed 2 vets that are close to me they are...

Barbara Deeb, DVM, MS
Allpet Veterinary Clinic of Shoreline

Melissa Nathanson, DVM
North Seattle Veterinary Clinic

Thanks!
