Here I am, a few months after shattering my tibia, watching my 2 nephews for the week. I've always been the "fun aunt." When my youngest nephew, the mischevious one, behaves himself and is able to choose a reward, he always chooses to come to our house as the reward. I find that most adorable.
Unfortunately, with a healing leg, I have been searching for fun things to do, closer to home. Today, their last day with me before I meet my sister half way to her house and she takes my daughter for the weekend, I went as all out as I could get.
I woke up much earlier than the kid crew, because there was a car accident right outside the front of my house. It didn't wake the kids up, of course.
After the kids woke up and had breakfast, I let them release the butterflies that we'd been raising from caterpillars.
Then the two eldest children carefully lifted the wheelchair down the 4 front steps to the sidewalk. I hobbled down on my crutches and then we all went the block and a half to the church pool. I got a family membership for the summer, so as I get better and able to get in the water, I can use it for my physical therapy.
We came home and had a late lunch. Then I got them all in the car (me using my walker and crutches again), and we went to the children's museum.
So, today I did a lot of walking, a lot of exercise, but not a lot of drawing. Whew. I'll be glad to have the house to myself for a few days starting tomorrow afternoon! hehe
