we have three week old kits (3) and have moved them nest box in large enclosed with mom to their own cage. They were able to get through enclosure holes. We now have them in a hutch in a room they can be free to roam about a bit. I have the door open for Mom to be able to visit but am wondering about nursing. Will it work for me to just make sure Mom is put in hutch with babies a certain time each day? Day or night time better?

We want Mom to be able to free roam but not the babies since they are chewing and peeing everywhere

Thanks in advance!

They can be with mom in both the morning and evening to give them a chance to nurse, but you'll want to make sure she spends time with them each day for more than nursing, as it's important for their digestive health and socialization for them to be around her.

Thank you! I brought Mom into room this morning and let the kits roam with her for about an hour and will do the same in the evening. She definitely seems to want to get away from them after nursing!

yes same! My doe has 11 4 week old bunnies, and she loves to get away from them!
