Well, I was hunting through old pictures, trying and trying to find one of Tia, the bunny I had when I taught second grade.

I found this one, but ... she's not in her cage. Her cage was on top ofthe yellow cabinet when I first got her, so she could get used to thestudents without any contact with them.

So, then I finally found this one. The twostudents in this picture are writing about the bunny and her activitiesand how much food they gave her, and how they filled her water bottle.Different students wrote about her...the mice... and the frog... everyday.

Awwwwww she was a castor rex? I bet the kidsadored her!

Yes she was! :) And they truly did. That was the quietest class of kidsyou could ever want. Whenever the noise level got the leastbit high, I only had to remind them of our animal classmates, and theywould immediately quiet down. She loved to hop around while they werereading, and the "dust buster" job was coveted among students to cleanup after her. LOL

Ooooo what a great job! dustbusting bunny poos! :D

I love when teachers have pets for their students! A lot of kids aren't exposed to animals except for in classrooms.

My son had a classroom rabbit in 2nd grade. Fish, frogs, andeven now, his science class has a gecko, hamster, gerbil and well.....frogs but they're dead.... he's disecting this week! :(
