They are getting so old!

Merin, Nessa and Fintan are almost 6 months now!:shock: Time seems to be going by so fast! Well any way, I was wondering if it would be a safe age to breed them next at the beginning of October or should I wiat until they are older. For those of you who don't know yes, I know about the homeless bunnies, yes, my bunnies are pure bred. I know about all this stuff (a year of reasearch does alot for you!) I am in 4-H so I breed them for showing and stuff like that! Does anyone know when I should breed them????

You should probably breed them when they're 7 months old. That's a good age. Six months is good too...but I'd go for 7.

It would be fne to breed them the beginning of October. They are old enough. Babies will be born beginning of November, whatever you will part with will be ready for new homes by mid December.

I sit bad that they will be parting near Christmas. I don't want any of my bunnies to go to a home where they will be forgotten.

That is true. But you can sell them after Christmas so they aren't really a "present" to some child.

Or, if someone asks you if they can get one for a gift, simply refuse and say they're not gifts, but pets, and you won't be selling them as x-mas gifts. What we do (me & my sister) is we either hold the babies until after the holiday(which we don't usually breed for litters to be due around....)or don't sell to anyone who is getting it as a gift.

I think I will ask the people wanting to adopt a serise of questions so that they don't go to a home where they'll be forgotten. Oh! I am so excited and nervous the day is coming soon! I think on the 5th I'll breed em but not sure on the exact date. Oh and I have another question. Can I breed Fintan to both Merin and Nessa on the same day or should I wait awhile so he can rest?

I put the wrong day! It would be the 2nd when I breed them not the fifth! Then there birthday will probably be on a Sunday, October, 2nd so I can be with them on the first day. (well at least for a little bit until I go to church then after church I have nothing.) Hmmm, I'll have to ask my mom if I can skip church that day if there are any complications in their birth! I really do need to know if I can breed Fintan to both girls on the same day or give him a rest so if some one could reply that would be great....

Yes, you can breed Fintan to both girls on the same day. He'll be fine. Bucks dont need "rest" after they breed.
