Blake and I were talking about the *summer jam*.. yanno the one song that played all summer.. and was THE jam. This has been a big year for Blake, with a lot of defining moments.. so he most probably is always gonna hear this song and think of these memories.. Jarred, Stormy,Ty, first truck, first kiss, first job, playing HS Football, 4 wheelin down the pipeline with the tribe, bonfires,..

This song also stopped him dead in his tracks because while Jarred can't be with Blake and Ty to share this summer with them.. Jarred's 2 absolute Fav songs EVER were Werewolves of London and Sweet Home Alabama...listen closely to this song..

Kid Rock's new one..

So what was your last summer teenage jam?

Oooooh, tough question!

Most of the songs that have been big in the summer I've not been a fan of, and they were just the song that drove me mad all summer long lol...

But, a few years ago, in 2004, I had just turned 20. I sort of dropped out of uni due to health issues (and the fact that I hated it) and had just started seeing Jason, my ex. I went back to stay at my parents for the summer to be nearer my friends and hang out and just generally have fun.

This was my summer song:

It basically was my 'last summer', without a job, and without too many grown up responsiblities, hanging out with my boyfriend and my best friends all day everyday. We went on a camping trip, 5 of us, and this was one of our soundtrack songs :) When it came to autumn/winter, I broke up with Jason and got a proper job, and then a few months later, when I was heartbroken over him, I could no longer listen to this song without crying. It took over a year before I could listen to that song the whole way through! But now I love it and it's one of my all-time favourites. It's also a favourite of my ex's, who is now one of my best friends lol. Funny how things work out! :) Great memories of that song...

I love Kid Rock's new one - have you seen the video on CMT? I can't believe he's playing all the time on CMT now... LOL!

There are too many songs that could apply to this for me.

So I guess if I had to pin it on something I'd say The Grateful Dead song "Sugar Magnolia".......

Yeah, yeah, I was a Dead Head as a teen. LOL!

WAIT: I could also say Prince: 1999.

or

The Theme from Rocky Horror........

Oh wow.... :p

Swing Swing by The All-American Rejects. It brings back so many memories.

And I LOVE Rocky Horror! I've seen it about a billion times, and I've been Magenta for Halloween. :biggrin2:

Not sure what summer it was. I think it was '99? All I know it was a rough summer where I had stopped speaking to my best friend over her drug use. It was a sucky time. But I still managed to have fun that summer. This song played like the whole summer:

EDIT: I also remember the summer of '02. It was the end of my Freshman year (just turned 19)of college, I had my first real boyfriend (we were together for 6 months at the time), and I had to go home to FL for 4 months while he stayed in IL at home. I was devestated. He was reassuring that we'd be ok.

On our last real date, he played this song in the car. Then he made me a copy of it before I moved back home. It was very helpful while we were apart. Now, almost 7 years later, we're still together and we've been married for a little over 1.5 years! Yay!

I have had several summers where I did a lot of growing up. But I am not yet out of the teenage years. Anyways, the song that I remeber the best from the summers and descibes them was "Your Love Never Changes" by Paul Wright. [ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=HZQQcAJHwOk[/ame]

OMG!!! I LOVE WEREWOLVES OF LONDON!!!! WARREN ZEBON'S AWESOME!!!

The 3 best summer songs are:

I dressed up as Columbia one time and Magenta another time. My best friend and I used to listen to the soundtrack on her portable CD player on the bus ride to school. Good times!

Y'all are so young!!! Summers meant the local swimming pool, and "Beach Baby" by First Class...we hung out at "the pool" and drooled over the cute lifeguards....in '74, I was 12, and thought that summer would always be the best.....and, somehow, all these years later, it still is!
