I thought this would be fun..

This was my hair choronology for2009..

It started off with a "Star formation" of blue on top, black on bottom.

The first stage of red - burgendy with black underneath

Eventually (Using a red dye that didn't need bleach, it had a lightner in it) it got to this red:

I faded it out:

And in Jan 2010 I went to black with blue "peek a boos"

Feel free to share your hair stories!

I don't have pictures but I used to dye my hair different colors all the time. Mostly I would just dye part of my hair(like your black and blue hair) but a few times I did it all red or dark purple.

I've done purple, blue, red, green and pink. Green and Pink were my favorites.

Now my hair is boring and just my natural color(light brown) with regular streaks(blonde and copper). I"ve considered dyeing it again but its a lot of upkeep to keep it looking nice. Not sure I want to deal with all that again.

DO you find the blue dye fades super fast? I found that the hardest color to keep looking nice. It would always fade to a yucky greyish color, much faster then the other colors faded.

Well, when I had my blue hair I would only wash it every 3-4 days, so the color would last. The color I used faded to a turqouise green color, which I got compliments all the time.

But I was still dying it every 4 weeks or so.

I am back to "normal" because of all the damage..which from the photos you can see never got really bad (I take really good care of my hair) but after a year of 2 major dye changes and dying my hair every month, it needed a rest, lol.

having worn my hair in various colours for most of my 43 years it's nice to see others keeping the faith:biggrin2: i think colours these days are a lot kinder to hair - thankfully - than when i started. last year my kids realised they had never seen my 'natural' colour so i had my locks cropped - one up from a shave. hadnt had that style since before they were born either. the result was some nice natural highlights:) due to my daughter's nagging i have now gone back to the bottle:( kids:X

like the star formation on you - blue was always my favourite shade:)

You have fabulous eyebrows, Myia.

I miss my bangs, but I'm trying this whole hippie washing thing for my hair, and I think bangs would make it really difficult.

OMG i could never not wash my hair everyday, lol. I know it is not the best for your hair to wash it everyday but i just cant. I have gotten in the shower sick as a dog just so i could wash my hair, got out brushed it, and threw my pajamas right back on,lol. my mom says i have problems, lol because i wash my hair i have to dye my hair every 4 weeks which is a pain in the but

I know, right. I am so ridiculous about my hair, I can't stand when it gets the least bit greasy. But apparently because I wash it everyday with such harsh shampoo, it's just gonna make it even greasier. Plus, I'm trying to get away from harsh chemicals and what have you. It's gonna be a long month until my hair stabilizes.

Lol same. I HAVE to wash it every day. If not then DEF the next morning as soon as I get up. I just love the feeling of it all thick and fresh.

Well...I don't really have many pics of me with interesting hair.

I had a bob when I was very little Haha. This is me with my twin sister.

And then I just grew it and grew it, and started high-lighted it after it started going a wonderful mousy brown- of which I have NO pics lol cos I never liked it.

I get it high-lighted maybe once or twice a year, and touch it up every now and then. It's the ONLY thing I really spend money on. My guy friend tried to tell me how self-involved it was to spend lots of money on my hair, but he spends lots of money on his car, and I don't get my nails done etc. or indulge in other ways. My hair is the only part of my I inguldge in really lol. I don't usually buy expensive clothes or get my nails done etc. so I can afford £100 a pop :)

God this was after the hairdresser cut it all off. I was so mad. I was like- NOOOOO I said a few inches!!!!!!

But thankfully this was about a year ago so it's grown back now.

And then I dyed it green...

HAHAHAHAH I'm JOKING!!!! :D

Hey the green looks good! lol!

Thank you Jess..but my eyebrows a constant battle..I hate them lol.

I am neurotic about my eyebrows. They get extremely out of hand very fast if I don't do them every few days. I'm kind of mad at my new hair cut right now, since the ends keep flipping out. :grumpy:

I guess I'll have to suck it up and keep straightening them.

Lol my sister's boyfriend is ace at IT and did it for me. Brown too!! JUst to see what i would look like.

I'd LOVE to dye my hair all diff colours- red especially. And black. BUt I am too worried I won't be able to get it back to how it is now, cos i love my hair. It's probs the only thing about me that I feel proud about u know?

But if i still had my mousy hair I would so dye it all your gorgeous colours, Myia.

You can see he missed a little bit haha- at the bottom it's still blonde at the flick. The original looks like this:
