Not a good food. Corn in the first and third ingredient. Chicken by-product is the first meat. By-products are not good, especially as the first meat in a food. It is nice that there is chicken, but as it is not in meal form, it would be further down the list when the water is removed. Animal fat can come from any animal. The veggies listed at the bottom are not enough to make any difference in the food. It would be like adding a piece of carrot to a stew that would bee 100 people.

Look for a food that has named meats (chicken, lamb, beef etc) as the first and second ingredient. Ideally, there should be no grains. If there are grains, corn and wheat should be avoided. Any veggies should be in the top 10 ingredients.

Nope, you need more meat and less (or no) corn. What do you have available in local stores? Try going to mom and pop stores or smaller chains, they often have better choices than Petsmart or Petco. Pet Supply Plus carries a lot of good foods, if you have one of those stores by you.

thanks everyone my mom is feeding her dogs this. I found a great pet food that had meat in the first 5 ingredients, but the problem is the price,lol..

One of my friends feeds his dogs Chicken Soup too. It's also quite popular with the vet and other people at the Humane Society here. Last I looked it costs about the same as Iams and such. Natural Balance also has good foods that aren't terribly expensive. My cats are on their Duck and Pea formula for allergies.

i will have to check out the pet valu around me,thee is both the Chicken soup and natural balance and see w hat the prices are. thanks everyone
