I think I may have started a blog about Henri and Acorn before but since I have Lilly now too, I figured I would just start a new one. BTW, if anyone is wondering, Lilly's last name is Fluffybun because I commonly call Henri, "Mr. Henri Fluffybun".

If you missed the story on Lilly, I rescued her just this week. She's been through four different homes already. . . I suspect because people don't know how much care an English Angora rabbit really takes. She was pretty skinny and terribly matted when I got her, but she is doing well here and already did her first binky!!!

Henri and Acorn were semi-bonded before they got neutered, until Acorn decided to try to neuter Henri for me that is. I had them separated since then but they recently got neutered and just today, they decided for me that they needed to be together again...They've been together for the last several hours and they seem to be doing well so I think I might keep them together tonight. I'll probably sleep on the couch though just so I can be close if they do decide to fight. . . . . Oh the things we do for our furkids!!

Here are some of the pictures I got today.

So far so good. The boys are still together. I checked them both over this morning to make sure there was no biting going on and didn't find anything on either one of them. . . . . Did my boys really decide to bond for me?

Yep, it's a completely different kind of soft then a rex bunny is though. It's like running your hands through really soft cotton.

Yay, I'm glad you started a blog! Your bunnies are unbelievably cute!

Look at Henri's face lol, do you have to bath them often? How do you get their fur clean?

I just want to give them a big cuddle! :p

I try to avoid giving him a bath, the one time I posted pictures from (when he attacked the vacuum bag) was the only time I have actually broke down and given him a bath. If he gets dirty, usually I use a flea comb to get out whatever he managed to get into. A couple days of good grooming sessions generally tend to take care of it.

Mr. Henri might not appreciate that. . . . Lilly on the other hand seems to like her snuggle time.

I was sitting on the floor last night reading and she came up and almost sat on my lap!! Her front feet were on me and her back feet were on the floor and she was looking up at me like "Thankyou for the yummies!" (I had just hand fed her some lettuce from my garden.)

Oh yeah and I almost forgot to add. I had a little break through with Henri. Anytime before last night that I tried to rub under his chin or brush under his chin, he would promptly decide to try and bite me. Last night though, after he had been with Acorn for several hours, I was grooming him and had NO problems brushing under his chin. I know that rubbing under a bunnies chin can be seen by the bunny as a sign that you are demanding them groom you. Could the sudden change in Henri's behavior have something to do with his interactions with Acorn? Watching them, I'm pretty sure Acorn is fully asserting himself as top bun.

All of mine hate their chin/neck touched. Just recently I got Bo to let me groom him there - once he figured out I was getting all that loose hair out he was happy!

GAH!!! I just had to separate the boys because the circling turned into Acorn digging at/pulling at Henri's butt again. I think there are too many hormones running rampant still for them to be together full time.

Oh wow - new Angora! Lovely. So glad you got her - you are absolutely right about people not knowing enough about Angora's everyone wants one until they find out how much work they are. They are such wonderful buns. Can't wait more pictures and stories. :)

Sorry, I haven't been the best at keeping this updated. . . Let's see, the last time I actually updated was just to say I separated the boys because Acorn was digging at Henri again. Since then, they have been living in the pen with a gate between them and they get different run times. I'm trying to work on the litter training with them and Acorn is doing great, Henri not so much though. I need to get some new pictures of Henri and I will post them here. On Sunday, I gave him a haircut because he is moulting pretty bad and I wanted to cut back on the amount of hair that he was ingesting. He almost looks like a normal bunny now, lol.

Lilly is doing great. On Saturday I found out that she runs away from craisins for some reason, but she loves banana and fresh cut parsley. On Sunday I found that she really loves a pink and white sheet that I let her play with. I'll have to get pictures of her with that too. She also really likes a coir doormat that I gave her to dig at.

I'll be back later to post some pictures.

I'm back, with pictures as promised.

Here is Henri after his haircut.

He's still fluffy of course, but I cut off atleast two inches of wool.

Lilly is doing great. I read to her for a while the other day. I don't think she really cared for that as she just went to the opposite corner of the room and sort of watched me and listened to me. As soon as I shut up and had her with me while I was watching tv though she was very interested in me and hopped up on my lap several times. I've gotten enough of her mattes out now that I'm not planning on grooming her at all for a few days to give her some more time to bond with me without the scary grooming.

She is quite talkative still, she lets me know when I startle her because she squeaks and runs away (she startles quite easily). She talks to the cats quite a bit too and I'm not sure what this one means. She isn't scared of them, and she has never tried to bite them or anything (Acorn has before) but she will sometimes make really soft noises at them, they sort of sound like grunting maybe?

Anyway, here are a few more pictures of her.

She got a haircut too. She's actually chinning my feet as I type this though so I'm going to end this one here so I can get on the ground and spend some time with her.

Umm, this is Henri. Apparently my mom's not too good at this whole "blog" thing. . . . She hasn't been telling you the real story about life around here, that's for sure. I'll give you the short version to catch you up on how things really are.

You see, I've been around here for a while now and mom promised me a girlfriend when I first got here. Then what shows up at MY house? Another guy! Not just any guy either, a hyper little one mom calls Acorn. That wasn't too bad I suppose, we even got to be friends for a while, but then the little bugger bit me!

Not long after that, mom dropped us off at the doctor ladies for something called a nooter. *shudders* I'll leave it at that.

While we're recovering from the unpleasantries, mom brings a gorgeous doe into the house (finally!) and now she won't even let me meet her. What kind of torture is this woman trying to put me through? She even keeps me penned up sometimes so that Lilly can run around and I'm stuck admiring her from behind a gate.

To make matters worse, that little brat Acorn decided to jump into MY side of the pen the other day. He was being cool for a while but then his evil side kicked in again and he started nipping at my butt. I did not appreciate that, luckily for him mom put him back in his place before I really had to show him who's boss.

See, that's what my life is really like. . . . mom makes it sound all like I'm the bad one because I have to mark my territory but what's a guy supposed to do around here? Every time I turn around, someone's trying to steal my favorite spot or the best piece of hay. There's even this white thing here named Nemo (I think mom calls him a cat?) that liked to sleep in MY hay! I put a stop to that one though. . . . cats don't like getting wet remember?

-Henri

I don't know how I missed the updates! The bunnies look great! Henri is too cute with his new haircut and of course Lilly has the best ears in the world I think!
