I'm going to post this here - maybe so more people will feel miserable with me?

I've had the flu this week - at least I think its been the flu....I hope I'm not seriously sick but I do find myself wondering.

Every joint and muscle ached...and not only ached - but ACHED. In addition -I felt as if someone reached in and removed any batteries I might've had as I was sleeping as much as possible.

Is that this year's version of the flu? IF so - don't get it.

Now that I'm starting to feel better - and the weekend is coming - what does it do but thunder and pour down rain.

Mind you - we've been under drought conditions for a while (a long time) and the rain is much much needed.

BUT....

I wanted a nice weekend....instead the sky is filling up as lightening flashes (it is pretty) and the rain is already starting to fall. We're supposed to have a 60% chance of rain almost all weekend if I understood Art right.

Oh well...

Does anyone have some cheese I can add to my whine?

Oh well - I think I may head back to bed for an hour or so before work. I slept till about 11 pm last night (I got about 12 hours of sleep yesterday) and I've been up since then - but I don't have to work for a couple of hours and I'm starting to get really wiped out already....

....I feel bad griping - but honestly - I'm just so tired and grumpy and .... oh yeah - and tomorrow is my normal time to call my mom for our weekly phone call. Great....I get to see if she's "nice mom" again or if she's "mean mom".

I sure do hate this stage of Alzeheimer's....

Now I definitely AM going to go back to bed....

Hmm, sounds like you have what my husband has had for the last week. Poor guy felt like hell over the (Easter)week-end, but he's slowly getting better.
Fever, tired, ache-y, and chest congestion...ugh
My husband NEVER gets sick either - i can remember a couple years ago when he had something, but it's literally been years.
Hope you're feeling better soon

:bunnyhug:you can moan and whinge as much as you like as long as it makes you feel a bit better. we cant go thru life being nice all the time.

There is certainly a nasty strain going around this year, and it really seems to hang on a long time. We all had it a couple weeks ago.

Night before last, I was so sick that I though I had food poisoning, but am feeling better today. Don't know if the was the hot dogs at the scout campfire or the flu.

2 nights ago, I realized I hadn't seen you in a spell so I went and perused your facebook for clues..

I ended up reading your entire blog for hours.

Brought me to tears a couple of times, you have such a true gift with words.I mean we knew that with Tiny and Miss Bea's stories, but I really enjoyed your blog.

Glad your feeling better.

Oh no....I'm assuming you mean my "other" blog and not my one on here....that could be dangerous. (I was about to write in it today about dealing with depression).

I'm doing somewhat better - over the flu - mostly - but feeling weak and exhausted some too.

Thanks for saying I have a gift w/ words - that means a lot to me considering how much I enjoy reading your posts when you share about your life.

I'll trade you the HEAT we're having for your rain!!! :biggrin2:
Nah...I guess I'll keep the rain....we get enough heat in the summer and our central a/c is still broken - looks like we'll have to make it through this summer with our window air conditioners again..

But thanks for the offer!

Thanks Pam - I was thinking it was pretty bad. I'd just start to feel better and get knocked back on my rear and go to bed.

I can't believe how whiny I was in my original post - its just - after having been sick all week - I wanted a NICE weekend....

...as it turns out - Art & I will be driving tomorrow to both Uvalde and Eagle Pass most likely to get two mystery shops done. Its hard to resist when the company is offering $72 per shop - it will cost us about $25 or so in gas....so we'll still make about $125 for the trip(s) and get to spend the day together.

The thing is - I HATE traveling and next weekend we're hopefully going to San Antonio for something special...which will mean two weekends in a row we'll be on the road...

Oh well....

May I have some provolone with my whine please?

we had a very nasty strain of flu go through at work, since we are in such close proximity to each other things spread-very well. The department next to mine(I work in Medical manufactoring) was taken down for a week with 20 of their 25 people taking on some kind of stomach flu. our department was scared, we're bigger. I wasn't since that department doesn't have a 3rd shift, and I'm third, but if one of our department got it, we could spread just as bad.
I'll take your advise on NOT catching that flu. i turned down the flu shot this year since i'm good at not getting sick normally

The only year my mum got the flu jab was the first time she had the flu in 18 years.

Pam I hope you get better I think your flu swam across the ocean and got me I have made a "bull ring" out of tissues to stop the snot. Not to self when maid service knocks on your door, remember to remove before opening. And as Zin said you really do have a way with words, I could sit reading your posts for hours as you make them so readable? and nice and flowy to read, especially with your Tiny stories.
