I realized none of ya'll have ever seen where we house the bunnies during the fall/ early winter..

Its open on the bottom, and they are hung high enough that no predators get to them.

We also use this for spring/early summer.

When it get's to be too hot or unbearably cold.. everybody either gets moved to the AC rabbitry... or.. it gets closed in and the heat lamps go up...

There's also a mascot...somebody dumped him off...he doesn't let us pet him.. but he's a constant fixture..

Yes I know.. I need to dust..but it makes the bunnies sneeze...

I Love your rabbitry!! Did you build it yourself? What does your AC rabbitry look like? I'm trying to deciede whether to build an outside bunny barn or stick with the air conditioned plan. Hmm. Thanks for sharing these!

Thatreally interesting to see a rabbitry like that we don't have anything like it over here. they would probably all freeze :p

That's a lot of bunnies! I can seewhy dusting makes them sneeze. :p

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Nice set up Zin! Very nice! Yeah, I hear ya on the cobwebs! I have to empty the cages andI do a row at a time. Do you hose them off or torch them?

I wanted to mention.. this is just for show cali's... this isn't that sanctuary bunnies.. but then again, I am sure you can tell by all the lil cali face's you can see..lol

I love to see a large rabbitry that's well kept like this! It seems too many horror pictures get posted. By the way- is that a steel building? I was thinking of building a new insulated steel building instead of our wood because it'd be nicer to keep clean. Also, does the manure drop straight to the cement or do you have a system? I'm always full of questions for other peoples set-ups right now because we have to start building new pens and barns as we may be moving and my others are getting pretty old right now.

I have a question:

How come the wall is only half of a wall? I know you live in Texas but it must get somewhat cold in the winter.

I'm not sure if you noticed where Zin said:

Yesterday where Zin lives - the low was 66 degrees and the high was 81 degrees.

The average low (by the end of November) for her area is 47 degrees and the average high is 67 degrees. Of course - by then - the rabbits will have had almost four weeks to get used to the dropping temperatures.

To give a bit of a perspective on this - in our last house - we had roses blooming on Christmas day when my mom was visiting.

The half-wall gives EXCELLENT ventilation and many breeders in Texas have setups like that to let the fresh air in (from a forum I used to be on where there were a lot of Texas rabbit breeders).

I love your rabbitry! I wish I could have a barn or something like that for the bunnies! I was wondering how big ar eyour cages. I am worried about Fintan's cage being to small but I didn't really know.I heardCalis need like 4 ft by 2 ft. but his cage isn't nearly as big....:?The girls have abou that size though.....

Aly!:)

I think Fintan's cage is 2' by 2'! I let him play in a pen outside almost everyday and I am going to make his cage bigger soon! I he is not fat or anything.....

Aly!:)

That's a very neat set-up! Very nice for during the winter, although I would have the walls all the way down, lol. I would get cold myself feeding if they themselves weren't cold! How long does it take to feed ALL your bunnies daily?

You should post pictures of your sanctuary buns living quarters, as well as the indoor rabbitry :p

I see. I didn't see where she wrote that. I figured it had to do with warm wheather and so there would be ventilation. That is so neat about the roses!!!
