Here's a laugh, at least to me. YesterdayI got a letter from Amex making this 'fabulous' offer. They will upgrade my gold Amex card to a platinum for a mere $425 annual fee. Yeah, right. In exchange I get all sorts of travel benefits. That's wonderful since I rarely leave home.

I just heard on the news that Amex is offering some customers who pay their balance in full every month $300 to close their accounts.

This is a bit off-topic, but someone mentioned a ridiculous credit card offer....My credit card recently offered me the option to join a program to earn cash-back on my purchases. I was allowed to earn a *maximum* of $100 back for each calendar year. But the fee to join the program was $15/month. Excuse me, what???

After I got done laughing, that went into the shredder!

I suppose that would be a good program to offer tothe mathematically challenged.
