We decided to go ahead and get the rabbit, withthe intention of fostering it until she's better. If we fall in lovewith her and our other rabbits accept her, then she'll stay. If not, atleast we're going to get her out of the there and on the road to abetter life.
We were going to get her today, but our storage in locked up until 8PMtonight (we live in an apartment building), so we can't get the othercage until later. I'm going to go ahead and buy her today, get somesupplies, such as extra vitamin suppliments.
I'll post pictures as soon as we get her. We're already trying to thinkof names . She's either a Rex or a Mini Rex, I forgot what the ladytold me. Right now, we're going back and forth as to bringing her tothe vet, as we're getting Abby spayed on Monday and usually an exam fora rabbit doesn't entail very much, unless getting x-rays and bloodwork. So we decided to wait until after the holidays to spay her (it's $120to get Abby done, plus you all know how money is around the holidays),and if she is showing signs of being very ill, then we'll bring her in.
So that's that! I feel good that we're doing this, even though I washaving reservations this morning. It's funny, I didn't bring it up toDave, letting him mull it over himself, then finally he says: "So, youwant to meet me at the pet store at six so we can get her?" He told methat she needs a good home and better treatment.
I am sooo glad I married someone who loves animals as much as I do.
