I want to get my rabbit a friend as I know how they like to be kept in twos. The plan is to get him neutered, get my c&c cage and then get him a friend.
Well once I brought my new guinea pig home, which is kept seperate but in the same room and the cages side by side the rabbit started maring his teritory by rbbing his chin off everything and anything that the guinea pig touched, he went all around to the cage the guinea pig is in marking it and any toys I took out from the guinea pigs cage he would mark his teritory on it. Also during playtime he will jump on top of the guinea pigs cage and use it as a litter box, he pees and poos down on top of the guinea pig!! Not sure if this is anything to do with that that cage used to belong to him till the day we got the guinea pig we bought him a bigger cage and gave the guinea pig the rabbits old cage.
But Im just scared now incase I get the second rabbit and they dont get along as he seems extremly territorial, or will he loose that once he gets neutered? He is about 8 months but he wont be getting neutered till about 1/2 months as I need to save up for it.
Other than the whole maring his territory thing he doesnt do anything else to the guinea pig, doesnt sosalise through the cages or anything, doesnt go over to the side of the cage when the guinea pig is there looking for him, he will smell him, rub his chin at the cageand just hop away LOL.
What do you think? P.S I am also getting another guinea pig too incase as the guinea pig really is intrested int he rabbit and i know they like to be kept in twos.x
